I ordered this blackout roller shade to help block light in one of our rooms, and overall it works well. The linen fabric gives it a nice textured look that feels a little more upscale than typical vinyl-style blackout shades. It’s soft, odorless, and looks clean once installed. The blackout feature is very effective. It does a great job blocking sunlight and providing privacy, which makes it especially useful for bedrooms, nurseries, or media rooms where you want a darker environment. The added thermal backing is also a nice touch for helping with light and heat control. One feature I liked is the wand control system. It allows you to raise and lower the shade without touching the fabric, and it feels smoother than some traditional pull chains. The design also adds an extra level of safety compared to long dangling cords. Installation was straightforward as long as you measure carefully for inside or outside mounting. Once installed, the shade sits securely and rolls up and down smoothly. Overall, this is a good quality blackout roller shade with an attractive linen appearance and practical design. It’s a solid option if you want effective light blocking with a cleaner, more modern look.

Holy wow, this is a big shade! I mean, I knew that when I ordered it, but I live in a tiny home, so to unbox it, I had to use the front porch. Everything I needed for installation came with it, and it was straightforward and didn't take long at all. This is a cord-operated shade, and not a cordless; however, the cord comes encased in a *wand. You ratchet it up or down with the wand. This makes more sense once you see it in person, and they have a video on the product page that shows you how to do this. Once you see that, it'll be a no-brainer. Easy peasy. The color is as shown on the product page, and it is indeed a blackout shade. I'm not a morning person, so I have this on a bedroom window right by my bed, and it has been great. This does have some capacity to cut down on the heat shining in as well, and it makes a noticeable difference. It is not an ultra-heavyly insulated shade, but just cutting the sun makes a huge difference, and it does that well. This did arrive with one end banged up, but the packaging took the brunt of it, and the shade is intact and blemish-free. There are also no hitches in opening or closing it; it is as smooth as can be. In terms of price, similar blackout shades without the thermal feature cost about half what this one costs, and when you compare thermal to thermal, this one is at the highest end in terms of price, about $35 more than comparable products. I have other insulated blinds, and I can't say this one offers anything the others don't have as well, and because of this, I took off a star. ( I don't know if they are using higher-quality components. This was based on what I currently have and a quick search on Amazon for comparable products.) This is available in different sizes and heights, and they do offer custom sizes.

The shad arrived with vital missing parts and shipping plastic container was broken open and then taped close. If it had been al in tact it would have been fine but now we have to return it. Have gotten another shade. Quality of shade was OK if we could have used it.

Form meets function at its best These are 100% blackout blinds, so Bair that in mind as they will not allow any amount of light through, however, if you are a night shift worker and you sleep during the day, or you have safe, perhaps an entertainment room or man cave that needs to be blacked out for a movie time, this is definitely what you need! It mounts inside of the window frame, so make sure that you measure appropriately.

The Pros: Excellent Quality with aluminum mounting brackets, aluminum tube, aluminum chain track, and metal bottom weight. The shade does a great job in blocking light and the shade material is very thick and feels durable so the assembly should last for years to come. The Cons: This shade is very difficult to install offering no templates for mounting the brackets. Also the mounting design offers very little tolerance for mistakes. If the bracket spacing is off by more than a 1/4" it will not stay locked in place. It is also very difficult to remove requiring inserting a small tool into a slot in the clutch to retract the pin. The shade also comes wrapped inside out, so prior to installation you have to completely unroll it, and then re-roll it in the opposite direction. As a result, the roll isn't held tight against the tube so it ends up dragging on the wall above the window which is loud when operating it. finally, keep in mind that this shade does not bring a decorative valance so the roll and mounting brackets are quite visible and unsightly. I'll need to purchase a valance separately to cover the top assembly.
