Recently remodeled three bathrooms and can recommend these gorgeous lights. They installed without issues and provide plenty of light. Don't find stuff like this at Lowes and Home Depot. Good stuff.

    • Too heavy for our application.
These are gorgeous, well-packaged, and well-made. But a few things might not be obvious and might, if like us, be serious drawbacks. Unfortunately, we had to return, but they might be perfect for you. (1) The shades are clear, not semi-transparent as they seem in the photos. They do have a groovy crack type pattern, but this is also very clear / transparent. I was hoping they'd have a touch of opacity, to keep the bulbs from looking so blinding when on. (2) The shades are very thick and very heavy real glass. Not some lightweight imitation. I'd actually prefer the imitation, both to reduce weight and to reduce how bad it would be if it were to fall down or get hit (I live with wild kids). (3) The overall weight is maybe 14 pounds. This is a rather high # for a vanity light. When I got into installation, I discovered my junction boxes are not secured to studs, but simply mounted in the drywall with tiny wingy brackets to secure it (so if the thin bits of drywall surrounding the box get comprised, it'd all crash down). I couldn't trust the drywall to carry 14 pounds like this, esp. when it is effectively a higher load due to the leverage created by having these heavy shades stick so far out from the wall, and with such a small base pressing right into the vulnerable parts of the drywall. (A bigger base would better distribute the force on the drywall.) From what I've read in electrician forums, those of us with this kind of junction box situation should aim for 6 lbs max. So word to the wise! This can work for some applications but not all. Check your junction boxes. (4) The provided mounting plate will not line up with every juntion box. I'd invest in one of those t-shaped or plus-sign-shaped types that have more flexibility in making things line up. None of these potential flaws are flaws in every case! You might have a junction box mounted to studs or are doing new construction where you can make it work, and you might want clear glass shades, and the mounting bracket is not a big deal since other options are fairly cheap. But you should know these things beforehand. ... show more

Easy to install. The only concern is the arm does lean down from the weight of the glass, so be careful the arm is as tight as possible to the base plate. Sooooo pretty! Looks so good in my bath.
