  • Price, Quality, Service and Peace of Mind
When the box arrived it was pretty banged up and one corner was split open. I installed it with little difficulty with the instructions but customer care came to the rescue without second guessing me or putting me through barrage of questions. Chair was installed. Thanks for delivering great customer service. Quality for the price exceeds my expectation. Very stable heavy and sturdy with multiple settings. It has a very good lumber support with good seat. You can slide the seat forward or backward depending on how much room you'd prefer. You can also lean it down. flat or up (not sure why). Arm rests are soft rubber yet not too soft. You can make those go down or up and expand outwards if you'd need to. The backrest can also be adjusted to your preference of much do you want it to lean back or forward. You can also adjust the height of the back rest. So, overall it is a great chair. Forbes rated this chair as the best budget friendly chair, the cloth version where I picked the leather version. It is indeed a good buy. ... show more

  • Four years and still outstanding
Owned this chair now for four years and it’s still a very supportive and comfortable chair. Seat tilts forward or back and can lock in place. It also slides forward and back providing additional flexibility in the seating surface. The back tilt tension is perfect and can be locked in place and the armrests adjust up and down and can be removed entirely very easily if desired. Great chair! ... show more

  • Not easily assembled
Unfortunately the assembly instructions were missing so I had to research to find it online. The did not post them on Amazon for easy reference. Assembling the back of the chair was a nightmare. The chair and all of it's components are heavy and getting everything to line up was a task. In the end I opted NOT to fasten the back down because 1. It weighs a ton and isn't going to fall off and 2. It was more frustration than I was willing to deal with to line up the bolt (but I tried for at least 20 minutes). However... even in its 11/12 assembled state, the chair is solid and VERY comfortable. It took a minute to figure out the chair controls to get it just right (remember the missing instructions?) but once I got there I knew it was a keeper. Kudos to those of you who made it to 100% assembled. ... show more

  • Good chair, but missing parts and horrible customer service
Good chair but I wasn't sent a bolt and to attach the back rest to the seat. It's been over a month and customer service still hasn't sent the correct part.

  • Used for 6 years - just bought another one
I've had my Alera for 6 years and was happy with it the whole time. After 6 years the cushion and arm have seen better days but I believe that to be the result of rough use from someone who will use it 8+ hours a day, and sits with their legs up, constantly adjust the back and seat to sit comfortably rather than poor quality of the chair itself. So now that the old one is worn down, I'm replacing it, and buying an additional one for my spouse. I'd highly recommend it against other chairs at its price point. The adjustments are lovely and the seat is plenty wide for most builds. The wheels have proven incredibly sturdy too. Due to a desk that was too high, I had the chair positioned on a stack of boxes for a substantial length of time, and despite the weird weight shifting and uneven distribution cauhsed by the boxes, the wheels never broke or became stiff. Again- mishandling by the owner but the chair was up to the challenge. ... show more

  • Used chair instead of new one
Paid for a brand new chair and received an already used one. Product had been already opened and resealed shut. Wheels were opened and loose in the box rolling around and seat was re taped. Very disappointing. Especially for the price.

  • Better than a Herman Miller A++
The product only took me 5 mins to put together as all major components are already in place. (Use box as instructed because it makes assembly super fast). I wanted a Herman Miller but way too expensive for a home office but I wanted the quality and construction. I first purchased a $225.00 Executive faux leather chair that took 2 times to order with 2 times the delivery of a damaged chair. I saw these after looking nat the Herman Millers on Amazon and ran across this item. I went straight to YouTube and saw a girl demoing it from their warehouse. This chair is fantastic!!!! so configurable, comfortable, and feel solid as a tank. I would recommend this to all home office worker that need something that will support them for 8 or more hours of work a day. ... show more

  • Solid chair!
Solid chair, especially for the price. I couldn't bring myself to spend $500 on a Herman Miller so went with this more economic option. Support is great, can adjust to your liking. Only downside for me is that (could be only my chair) the back support has the option to move up and down, but not to lock it in place. ... show more
