This unit is super easy to install. Don’t let the refrigerant lines scare you!! It only took me 2 hours to make all the connections and get the unit fired up. You will need a dedicated electrical circuit and a AC disconnect by the condenser unit which isn’t too hard as well. I would also recommend installing a surge protector on the ac disconnect just to protect the inverter motherboard from getting fried during a lightning storm. We’ve had some of the hottest days here in South Florida and this unit has been able to keep my 500 square feet garage at 70 degrees even when it’s 100+ outside. The unit is super quiet even in turbo mode. Once it reaches temp and ramps down you really can’t hear it running. I can’t say much about the long term reliability yet but so far I think this unit is a steal for the price and performance!! ... show more

If you have any kind of skill when it comes to doing anything, this is very eay to install!!! This was the only one I have ever installed and it took me 2-3 hours max. You do have to vacuum the lines, fortunately I have a friend who had the vacuum and gauges. I have not tried the heat feature yet, but the air is ice cold and cools off the entire back 3 rooms of my house. It extremely quiet, the remote works great and there were no leaks upon install or after. My A/C had been struggling to keep up with the heat, so I turned this on in my back bedroom. I set up 2 fans and blew the air all the way through the house and it worked amazingly! Definitely worth the purchase! ... show more

After trying to return item that was defective I found that seller charges restocking fee unless they approve return. I explained the failure I experienced day 1 installing and they would not accept return... I bought the mini split to cool a small garage. The unit is the 12000 btu 110v. I spent a few hours installing and cutting holes in the wall. I vacuumed lines as laid out in the manual and it would not get to 500 micron and stay there. I then sprayed big blue on all of the compression fittings I attached and filled lines with nitrogen. No leaks were detected. Vacuumed again with same result. Nitrogen fill and leak test done again. Vacuum test done again, closed valves at ac unit to eat dinner, come back 200 psi in lines. Refridgerant was leaking into lines the whole time without ever touching the refridgerant valves. This mini split seams like a good deal but you should buy a better unit if you can. If it doesnt work they will not help you to fix it. You are stuck with some scrap metal, holes drilled in your wall, and no ac that you payed several hundred dollars for. ... show more

This is a well designed unit, and there are several positives for consideration. It has a very efficient type of refrigerant- R32 that is safer for the operation since it has a very small charge. The supply and return tubing are sealed, as are the compressor and evaporator units coupling fittings that utilize mating surfaces incorporating sealing 'O' rings that remove the leakage issue from flared style fittings. The evaporator (inside the house) unit is attractive and is not difficult to install thanks to the included layout template. The insulation on all of the components is of a good R-factor to prevent 'sweating' and condensation moisture problems. I was pleased at the low sound of the fan ranges even in the 'Turbo' mode. There is an impressive temperature output of this unit -- Delta T range up to 34.6 degrees F on 100 degree outside temp compressor location. The compressor unit(outdoor) is very quiet and easy to connect to both the control cable and freon tubing fittings. The only negative item is that the signal/power wire is not the same length as the tubing, which then makes the location dependent on the cable length with a section of the tubing being bent/curled in a snake configuration. The extra 2 feet of cable would make the installation much 'cleaner' and the wrap of the tube/wire much easier to complete when installing the conduit cover for aesthetics and protection from sun and damage. ... show more

I got the DIY version. The hooking up part was just as easy as pointed out in instructions. Its runs real cold and quiet. I tested it blowing out at 59 F with a ambient temperature of 83F. Recommend using some approved thread lock if you don't have a torque wrench. It has alot more features then I even need but nice to have them. The inverter means I will save money on electricity versus my stand up unit talking up space in my garage. My only grips was that the unit template said to cut the hole out on the right side but it came with the tubes (from the indoor unit) pointing to the left direction. Since it was already bent at a 90 in the wrong direction I decided attempting to bend it to a 90 in the opposite direction. Was too risky (kink prone) without a proper pipe bender. So I had to run my pipes out the left side and back around to the right side. Maybe I got the wrong unit or something but it works so I dunno. Also the app has no way to change from C to F. The remote and unit itself can show F however so that is only a minor inconvenience. ... show more

Installed this 3 weeks ago in my workshop and have been happy with it so far. Installing it was pretty straight forward using a combination of the provided instructions and a few YouTube videos. You will need a vacuum pump and some electrical skills if you are going to diy it. Keeps my shop cool throughout the day (high 90s outdoor) around 73 degrees. Outdoor unit is very quiet. Only nuisance that i have came across is the auto mode temperature is hard coded at 77 and cannot be changed. I just run it on cool mode to get past that ... show more

The unit came with Everything that I needed to do the install. The equipment and accessories are first rate and very well made. It all went together without a hitch BUT the manual is pretty much all in "chenglish" and can be hard to interpret. The section on connecting the freon hoses to the compressor were not clear at all and I ended up venting all of my freon into the atmorphere. I had to call the friendly HVAC company and $255 later I have a system that is quiet and works great. So my $400 system punched in at $650 which is still not bad compared to the $1300 that Lowes wanted for the same system. ... show more
