Yes. This mini split AC is DIY-friendly with a factory pre-evacuated and sealed system. No vacuum pump or refrigerant handling is needed. Follow the manual or video for installation. Professional help is recommended for users without basic skills. What should I know about copper pipes? The unit includes pure copper tubing pre-connected to the indoor unit and factory evacuated. Quick-connect fittings allow easy setup—just align and tighten. No flaring, vacuuming, or refrigerant release is required. What should I know about Freon? The outdoor unit comes factory pre-charged with R32 refrigerant. The sealed system does not consume refrigerant during normal use, so regular refilling is not required. I'm handy and do alot of DIY projects, but I was still nervous about buying and installing a split system. My primary reason for choosing this model was the elimination of the vacuum step for installing the lines. This is my first A/C install and I was not too keen on doing this. However the pre-charged lines were a breeze to install. For the curious (as I was) there is a rubber o-ring inside the connector and a valve on each end. As you insert and tighten the connector, the o-ring engages first to make the seal then the valves push against each other to open the line. Of course the o-ring doesn't make a perfect seal by itself so you'll need to work quick. This is mentioned in the manual as well. While on the subject, the installation manual was excellent - very clearly written with many pictures and diagrams. Also, the heat functions works. My heat test was limited to running in heat mode for a few minutes and the air was pleasantly warm. Overall I'm very happy with the unit and would recommend. Now for a few quirks --- (1) The phone app works. It is a Tuya plugin and I already have several other devices using Tuya including a Window A/C. Tuya is not my favorite, but thats what it is. For whatever reason, the plugin will not display or control the temperature in Farenheit. The unit itself and the remote control are switchable to farenheit -- more on this later -- but the app only works with Celcius. The app is configured to use farenheit, and the window A/C I have shows up correctly so the issue just seems to be this device. (2) My Tuya setup is integrated into Home Assistant and I can view the status of the A/C but I cannot seem to control it. I've done some troubleshooting and can't figure it out. Possibly my error somewhere and I will keep trying of course. (3) The temperature, mode, or speed displayed on the remote control does not follow changes made with the app. The display on the unit itself does follow the app. Conclusion: The remote has a one way link. (4) The farenheit set temperture shown on the unit and in the remote control is really inaccurate and the room temp usually runs 3 - 4 degrees colder than whats on the display. I'm convinced this is because the unit is working in celcius and the farenheit display is only a conversion with rounding done as a courtesy for us imperialists. Shame because farenheit allows a much more granular control of temperature. Overall, the quirks are just nuisances, and I give 4 & 1/2 stars. ... show more

4 hour install for someone not familiar with HVAC, not bad. Worked perfectly first time with no faults. I installed this in my camper and love it. Only issue is the android app Tuya will not change to Fahrenheit it remains in Celsius even though I've changed the settings within the app. The display on the unit shows Fahrenheit as well as the remote so that causes a little bit of an issue but that is the only issue I've had. So if I could I'd give it 4 and 1/2 Stars. The customer service was excellent and fast. They had lowered the price one day after I bought it and they quickly refunded me the difference with no issues at all. Very very happy. Only wish they could fix the Celsius problem in the app. I'm used to a very loud rooftop AC unit. So to me this unit runs absolutely silent even on turbo mode. It's not loud at all and on low mode it just gives you a very very low amount of white noise which is perfect for sleeping most of the time. You can't even hear it. ... show more

Quiet and cools pretty well. Install is not bad but having a second person would probably help a lot. Worth a little bit more to not have to have things vacuumed. Been up for a couple weeks now and will update as it gets used more.

We just installed this mini-spilt a/c unit in our home in Colorado. We normally don’t even need a/c out here, but lately the summer months have been really hot. So far it is working great & it’s so nice & quiet, we love it. We put it in our living room which is pretty good size & cooled it off very quickly & it went into a couple other rooms & was so nice & cool. It looks fine up on the wall both inside & the unit outside looks fine too. My husband installed it, he’s quite experienced in home renovation so not sure if everyone can do or not. We had an issue at first (which was something we were not sure about) & contacted the seller who was excellent to work with & resolved immediately! Bought the unit, but I had to wait to install it until my vacation. The unit was easy enough; I fired it up, and it threw an F7 (sensor communication error). Checked the wiring inside the unit; it was correct. Could not reach support (shocker), so Google told me to check the control board. The sensor connector socket had pulled away from the board, so there is no way for me to fix it. I circled the sensor female and male, just floating around. If you look down on the circuit board, you can see where it is supposed to attach. ... show more

I have installed 4-Mr. Cool units prior to installing this Albott. The installation is basically very similar. I have installed a 27k Mr. Cool multizone 220V unit for my home with a 18k for the living room and a 9k for the bedroom. I installed a 12k - 110V for my in-laws, and a 9k - 110V for my workshop. I had been debating on adding another 12k Mr. Cool to another part of my house to cool and heat two bedrooms. The only issue is the Mr. Cool have gotten a little pricey. I decided to take a gamble with this Albott, since this is not my main unit and the price was excellent. I have to say the Albott quality for the price is fantastic. This unit installed just like a Mr. Cool unit. Basically, running a 12 gauge 75 ft run for this project, from a 20 amp 110V breaker from my main panel to a AC shutoff and from the AC shutoff to the condenser unit. The inside air handler was easy to mount and run the copper lines, drain, and the already terminated power line inside the air handler. This power line connects to the outside condenser and connects to 1, 2 and S terminal connections inside the electrical part of the condenser.
