This bag has a large capacity; it is capable of fitting several hot tools and whatever else might need to be stowed (make up, hygiene, etc.) without issue. The fastening on the bag is secure. The silicone hot pad absorbs heat and protects surfaces well. I appreciate the variety of pockets that line the inside of this bag. It is less stain and water resistant than I anticipated.

This is a travel bag with a heat resistant mat included. Not a bag with a built-in heat mat. The bag itself is long and narrow, and fits wells along the wall of a suitcase or duffel bag. The size is just right for longer styling tools like my One-Step, curling irons, and flat irons. It will also hold one of those newfangled tall skinny ionic hair dryers. There is a built-in mat that folds out like a flap. It's also the flap that goes over the top of the case so you will need to make sure the surface you are using has enough room for the flap as you have to extend it to unzip the case. I like the extra security and idea of the mat, but wish it were fully detachable. The "heat mat" is just a mat stuck into the bag. It's very small and barely fits the barrels of my curling irons. It does better with resting the tongs of my flat irons. But, heat mats are useful to me so I'm glad to have it - except that it's damaged. There is a hole in the middle and the mat is crinkled (like it's been in the microwave or something) and will not lay flat. The bag seems a bit pricey for what it is because the material is thin and the pockets inside seem fragile to the point that I probably will not use them except for something soft, like hair elastics. That, plus the damaged heat mat, gives this a 4 star rating instead of 5.

This bag will fit long tools, and a lot of them, though the triangular shape means it doesn’t hold as many tools as a cylindrical or rectangular bags with the same foot print. It won’t fit every accessory that I have for my airwrap, though I would not take every accessory on vacation with me. This bag has several useful organizers on the inside, with one flat zip pocket, four elastic-top pockets, and 3 sets of elastic loops. All those are good to corral my hair clips and heat protectant spray. I like that this case has a heat resistant mat AND that the mat is not attached to the large overflap. Why? Because the counter space I have is not always large enough to have everything all spread out. This way, if my hotel has a very small bathroom counter and/or I am sharing a hotel room with my sisters, I can even put the main bag on the floor and use the mat to protect the counter.
Though I like the bag, there are some areas that could be better. The heat resistant mat is a bit small, especially if you are using a hot tool that is long. It turns out that I’m not so fond of the case style that includes a large flap. I find those flaps take up too much room on a counter and are just kindof awkward. It takes more time than I want to use to snap those snaps to keep the flap snug agains the bag. But if you do like the flap thing, this is a well made bag.

The Akit Hair Tool Travel Bag is so versatile and accommodating to my needs. It folds completely flat. It also expands to hold a huge amount of items. So whether I'm just packing a carry-on for a weekend get away or a full set of luggage, it accommodates my needs. The Travel Bag is stitched well and feels well put together and like it will stand up to travel. It has a smooth satin feel to it that won't damage clothing it might be packed next to. The zipper on it is versatile and can be zipped so that the zipper heads are pulled together in the middle and then the magnetic flap pulled over so that the zipper heads are out of the way and won't catch on clothing. Most of the time I'm a minimalist when it comes to travel, only taking a carry on with me. This fits in my carry on without taking up more room than the tools inside it and keeping my other items safe from my hair tools. The travel bag is soft sided and pliable, so I found that I could put it in my roller carry-on between the handled grooves, in essence not taking up clothing room. With just a travel hair dryer and curling iron, it compacts down very nicely. If I were going on a long stay, this will hold pretty much every hair tool I own. It expands hugely, This would also make a wonderful case to pack undergarments instead of hair products.

This bag is simple, efficient and functional. The heat protecting mat is a nice feature. The bag is the right size to accommodate hot hair styling tools for storage and travel. I like the color and the design. Keeps everything need, tidy and portable.

This travel bag offers a convenient way to organize hair tools. I was able to eliminate 3 different bags and downsize to this. Inside, I packed 2 different types of curling irons, a flat iron, a hair dryer and a few hair accessories. I could try to pack in my hairbrushes, combs and picks, but then I might catch the zipper and break it. The silicone mat is a little small, I think, but it's concise. The material of the bag is splash resistant and the zippers are adequate. It offers a grab loop but no actual handle. I'm happy with this for it's intended purpose for simple travel or at home use. If you are a professional stylist or someone who works in the beauty industry - this may work as a quick bag, but it's probably not going to allow you to transport everything all in one bag. Overall, I think it's worth the purchase for under $25. This is a good deal.
