I really like this heater, was easy to put together and it heats up almost instantly. I purchased the stand up model and the base is heavy enough that the dogs don't knock it over, and if they were able to get it knocked over the heaters safety feature turns it off. It stands well on the little base. I wish the manufacturer had labeled the pieces of the base (front and rear) because the written explanation was difficult to follow. The display on the front of the heater that tells you what level heat it’s set at is very difficult to see.

They don’t recommend using this heater while it's laying down on a surface but rather require it be mounted on a wall, with it being at least 7 feet above the ground. I did test the unit while it was seated on the counter, since I only had it running for a few minutes. The only assembly required for this product is for the mounting bracket system. I could not clearly understand the directions in which to put the bracket parts together. Instead, I just kept fiddling around with the two part bracket system, until their assembly made some kind of sense. The manual definitely needs to be improved or they need to provide a simpler mounting system. The heater came with a remote control but most of the functionality can be performed on the left side panel. I was so relieved to find out that I didn’t need to use the remote in order to turn on the device and to adjust the power level. I already have way too many remotes of which I need to keep track. I chose this heater since it's rated for 120V and that's the only voltage I have wired in the garage. Testing the heater at it's lowest section I could feel the warmth at about 3 feet away. It's very convenient to be able to just turn on a heater in the garage, rather than having to set up my propane heater where I'd have to connect the propane tank, fire up the heater, then crack open the side door a little to deal with the possibility of accumulating fumes. With this product, one switch turns it on and another switch adjusts the power level. What a great product. Can't wait to try it out during the Winter time. ... show more

Direct heat is great for work shop. Has wall mount option that I plan to use on our patio early spring. For now, use it around the garage were I’m working on cars or other projects. Remote control helps when placed high. There’s buttons on the side that are kind of hard to see. Located on the left side of the plug. When using buttons, soft touch turning on. This is an electric patio heater that you mount to the wall. We put it up on our back porch so we could enclose it for the winter and have heat out there so we could still enjoy it a little while longer. It's great for that purpose and works well.
