We are a pet family so we were looking for a large pet carrier. I did extensive research & wanted a pet carrier that was not only conducive for our pets, but for our backs too! I HATE THOSE CLUNKY, CUMBERSOM, BOXY, BACK-BREAKING, PET CARRIER FROM THE 80'S I wanted a pet carrier for my husband who's tall, 6'.5" to be able to handle w/ ease while be just as easy for a woman my size at 5'3". I also wanted to make sure the pet carrier's FAA Approved which this product is. The color's are beautiful, the quality's superb & the mesh allows the pet to have more visibility than most carriers. I purchased the large which is roomy & the soft fleece bed have Velcro on the bottom so it adheres well to the bed, but comes out easy to clean which had me sold! I used to hate the pet carriers that stores only offered even 10 yrs. old b/c they were typically made of cheap cardboard w/ small holes or hard plastic that was cold & cumbersome. I would purchase the hard plastic style pet carriers b/c that was all that was available a decade ago & hated them. I'd put towels & pet toys & treats in the carrier to make it more cozy, but I always hated those carriers. It wasn't until my 22lb. male kitty hated the Vet so much that he literally busted the cat carrier open w/ all of his 4 limbs! Once I saw that Peighton was alright & not hurt, I was highly impressed & proud I must admit, that my Hercules kitty could bust that hard plastic carrier! Our Veterinarian was shocked, impressed & surprised at Peighton's amazing feat & thanks to his act of strength & communication of letting us know how much he loathes the hard plastic pet carrier model, we were able to do extensive research on pet carriers & end up w/ this impeccable pet carrier. It's so super sturdy & made of high quality materials, while being extremely pet friendly. My husband & I both enjoy carrying the carrier & have no problems at all. We purchased the Spinach Green color which is stunning. I was so pleasantly surprised at how well made this pet carrier is. It met all my expectations & more! Our pets give this carrier 2 paws way up & we intend on purchasing more in the other colors. The extra details that go into this carrier is amazing as well. There's mesh pockets on the outside of the carrier for treats & toys, etc. while there's a shoulder strap in the bag if you don't want to hold the carrier by the supremely made handles. I prefer the shoulder strap so I can also carry my handbag & be able to maneuver with more ease which in turn makes your pet more comfortable & that's the goal. There's also double locking, durable plastic clasps that are located on both ends of the carrier where the zippers are located. The durable plastic clasp's easy to use & gives complete piece of mind, especially if you have a particularly highly intelligent or precocious kitty or puppy. The mesh isn't flimsy, in fact it was made much better than I ever expected. This pet carrier's really something. It takes a lot to impress me & very few items in life ever come in the mail being better than expected. In fact, it's typically the other way around where I'm often more disappointed than I am bowled over, happy w/ my new product. This is one of those rare items that came out far better than expected! So far, this carrier has been great. The package arrived before it was expected, so that was nice. I have a 7 lb Chihuahua who I bought this for and it's perfect for him. It's a bit small (he can't turn around), but this is meant for going on the bus, on subways, on airlines and just being toted around into places that a dog on a leash normally wouldn't be allowed to go. He can lay down in it or sit up and have his head out, which is perfect. He seemed to be relatively comfortable in it and it feels sturdy. There is a strap that allows me to sling it across my shoulder and carry him around like he's in a gym bag. I like that there are a lot of pockets and that it's hard to tell that there's a dog inside. It almost looks like a gym bag and that's it. He's able to breathe and he's comfortable, plus there's room for his leash, etc in the side pockets. The zippers are a bit flimsy, but I like how they can lock so that the dog can't get out. We'll see how it holds up. I plan on bringing him with me on long hikes where dogs aren't allowed because of snakes, bison etc. I hate leaving him at home when I go out, so this is the perfect solution to have him with me. It's low-key and it looks like I'm just carrying a camera. I love it! Update: I brought my little dog in this bag on a long hike and not a single person realized that he was inside the bag. My dog is able to see out, but the mesh is dark enough that people can't really see in. With this bag, at first glance, it appears that I am toting around a gym bag. My dog was slightly squished in the bag, but he's able to come with me now, so I think he's okay being a little bit squished. It's not the roomiest bag ever, but it's perfect for toting him around. The strap is long enough for me to wear across my chest, so my dog is then able to see out the front and lay down. The lack of padding on the strap hurt my shoulders just a bit, but we were walking for a few hours, so that's understandable. I just wish there was more padding on the strap.     • A good bag for my Chihuahua
I ordered this to replace the pet carrier I have that I felt was too big for my Chihuahua. I ordered the black one hoping it would be a discreet bag when I need to bring my dog on public transport or into malls. She's an average sized Chihuahua weighing 2.2kg. Pros: - It is very lightweight on its own - Comes with a washable soft comfy bedding, held in place by velcro at the bottom - Has various pockets for you to put in your dog's leash, some treats, a portable bowl and water bottle - Has an adjustable shoulder strap with a shoulder pad - Two other straps held in place by a velcro handle for lifting the bag - Can be opened on either end. Flap opens fully on one side and halfway on the other Cons: - Does not open completely on top. Had some trouble putting my dog in the first time, as I had to push her into this 'dark tunnel' and she was resistant at first - Two 'lifting' straps not long enough for me to carry the bag as a shoulder bag - Not as discreet as I hope it would be, based on the photos in the description. The dog is visible at least half the time. Overall, it does well as a pet carrier. It looks comfy, feels durable and holds its shape well even when empty. Definitely recommend for fellow Chihuahua owners. ... show more
