Description

The AIRAID Jr. Kit targets the restrictive elements of factory intake systems, the intake tube and the paper filter, in order to help boost horsepower and mileage. It uses the good stock GM airbox (which actually does pull in cold air from fender) and improves it with more a laminar flowing direct tube, and a high flow filter. You get about 9 hp on the 5.3, and you will feel better throttle response. The sound is worth the cost alone...

Bought this for my cammed 2013 GMC Sierra 5.3. It simplifies the intake and cleans up the engine bay from the bulky factory tube. The filter is nice and high quality. The whole system is insanely overpriced though. This whole set up should be less than $100 honestly. On top of that, the tube was super oily and covered with plastic shavings. So much so that I took it inside and washed it with Dawn inside and out. Also, I feel like it should have a little more curve to it so that it puts less pressure on the upper radiator hose. Easy install, only took about 45 minutes and I installed it in below freezing temperatures. The throttle response is a lot better, I had to slightly adjust how I hit the gas pedal. Sound is slightly louder as well. I haven’t had enough time to see if my fuel mileage increases but I didn’t buy a truck for it’s fuel efficiency. I’m not sure if it’s making any extra power but it’ll feel peppier. ... show more

Works good if you’re wanting to get more air flow, Doesn’t really increase power (that I could tell) and it did change the sound of the vehicle some! Definitely cleans up the engine bay as well! I color matched everything under my hood for a better look

The directions were easy to follow, it fit like it should and helped give the truck a little better throttle response. The only improvement ive seen in fuel mileage is a .1% increase in averaged mileage. But the the better throttle response was worth it alone.

So the male barbed fitting they provided for the breather hose, wasn't the right size & was too big to screw into the tube. I had to drill the hole bigger & used a lighter to heat & soften the plastic to rethread it so it would work. I have a 2012 Silverado LT with a 5.3 V8. This product works as advertised by increasing my mpg by 1.2 and gives the truck touchy throttle response. Increased HP, I have no way of knowing but it does what I bought it for and highly recommend it!
