I've had this for about two weeks now and it's been a game changer. I used to spend about 20 minutes scooping leaves out every time I went to use the pool as I have a lot of trees and leaves and pine needles constantly falling in the pool. Once I put the Aiper in the pool, I have not had to scoop leaves out at all. The pool remains really clean and without all the leaves, my polaris has less work to do as well. Took it out of the box, dropped it in the pool, set up a schedule and have not had to do anything other than empty the basket every few days. No issues with it getting stuck on my steps or by the skimmer. I have a 50x20 inground salt water pool that runs up to 10 feet deep and this has done a good job randomly roaming about and covers the entire pool. The app/remote works well also although I have not had to use it much. The solar charging is really good and have not charged it at all. I currently run it about 10-12 hours a day and it keeps the pool clean and has not gone below 70% charge yet. I hope the battery quality is good, not sure if it can be changed but it has really covered my needs well so far and I am very happy with it. One suggestion would be to have the ability to set a pattern, currently it runs randomly and it does cover the entire pool but a part of me always want to control it more. I have used the remote to sometimes steer it to some spots when I'm being impatient. Unnecessary I know but just another cool thing if it could handle preset patterns.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: We have a large saltwater swimming pool and my husband does all the maintenance on it. He stays very busy and works hard. We have a pool robot vacuum, and it works pretty good, but in some ways it has added to his workload. He has to fish it out of the pool every evening and put it on a charger to put it back in the pool the next day. Another one of his jobs is skimming the surface of the pool with a net because it seems we always have grass clippings, pollen, or small bugs floating on the surface. He’s the man who has almost everything, but I needed to figure out a good Father’s Day gift for him and thought this would be super if it works well. The fact that it is solar powered is what sold me. We did charge it on a charger the first day, but after putting it in the pool, the sun keeps the skimmer recharged. My husband put the app on his phone and likes the fact that the skimmer can run independently or can be controlled by remote on his phone. It’s only been a few days, but so far we love this robot skimmer. Our pool looks perfect and my husband had said several times that he loves this product. He says he never would have thought to get one himself, but this product makes his job easier. He had thanked me several times for thinking of it. This skimming unit is large, attractively sleek, and runs constantly. It has the surface of our pool looking so clean and refreshing. It isn’t heavy and it makes pretty much no sound at all. The lights look pretty at night and makes it easy to locate. They also are different colors depending on if the skimmer is running on battery, solar energy, or running low. I can easily recommend this automatic skimmer and recommend this brand due to the quality, price, and solar power mode.

While I loved the job this skimmer did, I have a lemon. After 2 months the machine broke. One of the propellers stopped turning making the machine just shut down. It has deleted itself from the ap twice to where I had to reinstall the skimmer on the ap. After doing this the second time it worked for a short period of time. The company will just repair it where I feel a new one should be sent. So with the holidays I will probably be without one for several weeks. So for over be the time I get it back I will not have a working machine for about 20% of the time. Update. The company has been very good. After talking with them instead of a repair or refurbished machine they are sending me a new one. I hope this one last longer. It’s funny after 4 days out of the water, the machine worked again. The last time though it only lasted a few days so I’ll be happy to get the new one. It doesn’t explain though why the app just erased the machine twice. Happened when I was getting the propeller error. Update. The new machine has arrived. It’s in the water and doing its thing. The customer service people I’ve been emailing with have been great. They both went above and beyond what most companies would have done. I’ve changed it 5 stars because I really do love the machine it’s kept my pool clean from all the garbage from the association trees that blow in my pool.
