The rear cross bar and kayaks went flying into traffic on a busy I70. It’s lucky that nobody was hurt. The piece between the metal cross bar and roof attachment bracket is plastic. A carriage bolt that holds the roof attachment bracket is too small for the square hole molded into the plastic part. That and the nut in small knob with no way to use a wrench makes the crossbar too difficult to tighten. Please stop selling this part before someone gets hurt. ... show more

I bought these roof racks for my 2011 Prius three years ago. I'm giving this product a 4 out of 5-star rating because they have been structurally sound, with no issues related to loosening brackets or rack mounts. I stopped short of a 5-star review because the center rubber pads have worn out, and the plastic end caps have fallen off. There is a slight whizzing of air at high speeds where the brackets meet the door insulators, but I haven't had any leaks. ... show more

This does not fit the vehicle as advertised. I was looking for a rack to fit the special clamps that are already on the Matrix roof. Now I own a small $79 pile of recyclable aluminum and steel. Or I could pay $39 to ship it back to the supplier.

    • defective design - tension unreliable
the design is terribly defective. This thing works on tension. If you can't tighten it, it will fall off... and mine did fall off. the tension is only applied through hand strength. and the bold that holds it on, will spin in its holder so that tension is impossible. totally unreliable

I am really disappointed. And trust me, I am a pretty good DIY. Amazon said it would fit my 2010 Corolla. I have tried with all of the 3 delivered brackets, different front and rear. It already starts by fixing the end caps to the rails. Impossible without breaking some plastic. So no return possible. Nuts will dig into plastic... and so on. I can only speak for my Toyota Corolla 2010. But for this: Stay away. ... show more

I travelled 2500 miles, and it worked as described. However, when I went to take it off, one side had slipped. I had a cargo rack on the rails so it did not really move too much. However if the rack was not on there it would have slipped.
