The cord is USB and very short. I ended up having to buy an extension cord to put it where I want. The purple is a very light gray purple. I love the different light modes.

Description is accurate. Be sure to check measurements and know they use a USB to operate. They are very small lamps but are cute and well made. I got them on sale and they were worth price paid but not sure I would pay more than $20 for both.

I ordered a set of lamps - the first shipment only one lamp was broken. Returned and received the replacement. Both lamps shattered -both boxes however were in excellent condition. Returned again not requesting a replacement.

I bought two. One the light is meek and dim, but still working. The other worked great for maybe 36-48 hours and then quit forever. The blue light on the switch is so bright that I have to cover it to sleep.
