Agri-Fab Inc 45-05314-AMZ (85 lb. Push Spreader Deluxe) will help you grow the beautiful lawn that you’ve always wanted. With the right application setting and speed this spreader can cover approximately ¼ Acre (14,000 sq ft). With the 10in x 3.5in pneumatic tires provide a smooth transport on the project area. A cable flow control provides an easy method to open or close during spreading. An enclosed gearbox helps protect the gears and will reduce any disrupting activities as the products are spread. A hopper cover and grate are optional accessories the cover is used to keep the material dry, and grate accessory will improve material flow and spreader performance. The best time to use a spreader is in the spring. For optimal results, spread grass seed over bare areas when needed. In the summer, fertilize and feed when necessary to enhance growth. Terribly made, missing parts, difficult to assemble. Gear is way to tight. Even loaded with 50lbs. Of salt the tire would drag. Wing nut missing. Two days after using this spreader (today), I called the company directly. They are sending out a new gear motor along with new pins as they realized that I need to take unit apart to fix and the pins will be screwed up. Also sending out new wing nut. Other than some loss of my time, I'm satisfied with the customer service response. ... show more

    • Pretty flimsy gear housing, but otherwise ok....so far
Theres nothing more frustrating than salt spreaders that jam up and the stupid wheels wont go round, therefore nothing spreads. I know theres all the posts about washing them down well after EVERY use - well its difficult to hose something when its 5' and the hoses are all frozen solid. So.....after a partiuclarly frustrating time after a recent storm where I took great pleasure in smashing my useless Scott spreader to pieces, I decided to give this admittedly low priced alternative a go. The Pros - operates great in all conditions thanks to large pump up tires with a decent all weather tread. So far so good..... The Cons - and this concerns me for the future - extremely flimsy all plastic gear and gear housing. These things work by the axle turning a large gear which spins the small gear attached to the spreader. At one point during assembly the entire gear housing exploded open. I found i needed to secure it back together with some additional small nuts and bolts, not supplied. At another point the housing of the control lever which bolts to the handle also exploded open. That just clipped back together ok. Will see how this all goes long term. In the meantime, Ill eventually pick up all the pieces of my smashed Scotts unit which are spread the length and breadth of my drive. This one better work better, or it will meet the same fate..... ... show more

Issue with length of control cable, mine is 12" short to mount were assembly instructions show and say to mount. Have sent photos to show incorrect control cable and still no response or replacement cable to make right.

    • Not as good as I expected
This had to be a returned item. Parts were just thrown in the box. The cable assembly for the feed adjustment was nowhere near long enough to reach its mounting hole, which tells me it is probably not the right part. I made it work by drilling a mounting hole closer to the bin. Time will tell with how well it performs. ... show more

    • COMPLETE GARBAGE!
Complete garbage - broke on the first use and I returned it to Amazon the same day. Quality control on the manufacturing process is horrible, -Holes drilled in handle are wrong size causing the handle to wobble from side to side. -Cable that controls the dispense rate broke first use. -Even with the cable in a fully closed position product still leaks out of the hopper so you waste product and have a mess to clean up off your sidewalks. -No guard to keep the wheel from flinging chemicals back on your feet/legs. I bought the spreader due to price and wheels. Quality control could be better. The handle didn’t line up straight. The flow controller at the handle is cheaply made and I expect it will break later. And the bolts securing the stand piece didn’t have enough threads to tighten it down. I found bolts in my shop & that worked. Initially I was ready to return it but after seeing the assembled spreader and seeing that I couldn’t find a better spreader for less than what I paid. I decided to keep the unit. The wheels and the large capacity hopper is a big plus. It’s sturdy frame should hold up. I have to give a better review because it’s a good price. If I paid 50% more than I would give 1-2 stars. ... show more
