This is the second counter top ice maker that I've purchased, and I've found that they work well, producing a good amount of ice for an individual user at a reasonable price. However, the machines tend to break down after approximately a year. I bought this model in January 2023, and it stopped working as of late February of 2024. As long as you understand that the ice maker is probably going to die after a year, this inexpensive ice maker is a pretty good purchase, particularly when compared to models that are almost identical in construction that are priced higher. ... show more

I searched for an ice machine and kept seeing machines in the $100 range. I kept searching and found this machine. I am so glad I did. I saw the reviews where people complained about the noise but I do not think it is so bad. I was buying Ice at the supermarket and hated running out. This machine makes Ice to fill a couple of i gallon pitchers in about 40 minutes. I am very happy. I use spring water for the ice and I love it. My only complaint is that it does not use all of the water you put in and i am afraid the plug in the bottom will wear out. ... show more

I wonder if this type of model is made by an OEM, with slight changes in the case for companies, because about a year ago, I purchased something similar. Both work well. Overall, I have had excellent luck with this design. After running a few loads of ice after opening it, I just pour water in, let it make a basket of ice, which is enough for some decent drinks. Any excess, I toss into a Ziploc bag and toss into my freezer, then refill back to the fill line. This helps because I'm not waiting hours for a freezer to make cubes with ice cube trays. For cleaning, it doesn't hurt to drain, run vinegar through it with a self-cleaning circle, drain that, add a water with baking soda (which neutralizes any acid), run that through a cycle or two, drain that, maybe even run a rinse to be safe, and after that, the ice stays fresh tasting. Overall, a good purchase, and in Texas, a must have come summer. ... show more

I bought this unit in June of 2021 when we bought a new refrigerator that only came with one ice maker because the refrigerator couldn’t keep up with our demand. This ice maker that we bought, is beginning to not work. I have to turn it off and back on again, pull the plug to reset it and get it going again. But in all fairness we run this machine for at least 5 hours every day since we had it. Unfortunately the hinge inside the maker has broken and now it can’t scoop the ice out so I have to manually help it. The motor does tend to get a bit warm and you have to make sure the area with the fans aren’t blocked. I don’t feel like it makes quite as much ice was advertised, but it does make a good amount for our family of 5. I am seriously considering buying the same one again because it lasted 2 years and 4 months. I wish it would have made it to 3. But overall it does what it needs to. Just be sure to clean it by running some vinegar in it once in a while and clean off the dust on the fan blades & it should last a while. It is not a bad price for what it is. It is definitely better than buying ice from the store. :) ... show more
