I know there have been some gripes about the recently released clear Aeropress. They appear to have reduced what is included relative to the original Aeropress the way it was packaged back in the day. I got the original Aeropress relatively recently (earlier this year), so the only material difference I see between it and the Aeropress Clear is that the dispersion screen in the latter at the bottom doesn’t have the center hole. The design of the dispersion screen included with the Aeropress Clear is the same as that included in the Aeropress Go. I prefer the design with the center hole, but I don’t know that one could taste the difference between the two. In terms of the blemish that some have pointed out, I suspect it is the result of the process for the material used in making the Aeropress Clear. You can see more clearly through the Aeropress Clear (pun intended), but that isn’t why I bought it. From what I understand, the material used in making the Aeropress Clear is harder and a more friendly to hot liquids. I use the Basal Aerofilter Jar for keeping the filters. I prefer its closed design to the open one that used to come with the original Aeropress back in the day. It would have been nice to have the dosing funnel included, as the opening for the Aeropress Clear (and original Aeropress) isn’t large enough to accommodate the dosing cup from my grinder. I don’t use the included scoop or the included stirrer, so that is clutter that sits in a cabinet. I use a modified version of James Hoffamnn’s ultimate Aeropress recipe: 13.2 g dose : 230 g water. I grind like I would for a V60 immersion brew, generally with a light roast Ethiopian. Immersion time is 3 minutes, and pressing takes roughly 30 seconds, for a total brew time of 3:30. ... show more

Love the new clear plastic option, enjoy being able to see what’s going on inside the press. But, the quality seems to have gone down on the manufacturing and now includes less accessories.

It really does take the bitterness out of the taste. I use it with free ground coffee beans and K-cups (got to use up what I already bought). Love that it’s portable. This has been out for over 22 years, granted it has been redesigned and redefined but the function pretty much stayed the same. It's versatility is great, I use mine to brew many types of drinks like teas and stuff. I have the control cap and the metal filter so my AP is geared up for any brew!

My old one I have used 3 times a day for years. I needed a new one whenthe plunger leaked coffee as I turned it up to clean it. The new one works so well, it is a bit harder to push down the plunger but it works very well and I am pleased! Still the best cup of coffee on the planet!!

The clear plastic is definitely nicer than the standard darker plastic. However, this version comes without the compatible funnel. This is a MAJOR drawback.

I have been waiting for 10 years to get one of these because I have every known method of brewing coffee besides this and just didn’t think that I needed another. My mistake. It’s so quick and easy to use and the coffee is absolutely delicious, both iced and hot.
