It's been a month. The CBlack model is an low temp model capable of hitting -40c, and I've confirmed it with an external thermometer. Warning, the regular black does not hit this temp. It's well suited for freezing fish for sashimi and the cheapest low temp model you can find. I haven't found any other model that's 110v and can hit lower than -35c that's not rated for medical grade or cost thousands of dollars. The built in display displays the target temp and current temp but that current temp will be off by a few degrees. The temp variability swings up to +/- 2 degrees most of the time per the cycle (if u set it at 38c, it may swing around 36-40c basically.) Re:Noise level, it is around 38-40db with a small breathing noise that could be audible. It's duty cycle at the lower temps turns on around half the time pulling 90w-100w. It may differ at higher temps but I havent tested it. Arrived well packaged in foam, lucky I have no major dents or scratches. If you transport on its side, leave it up right for 4 hours per the included instructions for the oil to settle before turning it on. (I would wait 24 hrs just to be safe though). Quick freeze mode seems to remain on until you turn it off, so cannot confirm auto off. Will see if moisture is an issue in my first manual defrost and if neutral cure Silicone is required for inside corners where the folds don't look well sealed. This tip came from another review, fyi if you follow this, it has to be neutral cure type. Lastly, no warranty info is provided in the guidebook. Would recommend considering purchasing asuron extended warranty within 30 days if you have any doubts with your freezer. But I feel mine is well built enough. Will report back over time if any issue with the compressor. Other brand names selling this model include cool home, wator, and soukoo. Recommend to read all the reviews. True dimensions are 21.2in x 22in (Including hinges) 31cm Height. Hope this helps everyone. 6 month update: Going strong, have been running it at -40f and have no complaints thus far.

This super low temp freezer is really impressive and super affordable. Other freezers that go below -20C cost 10 times as much, so I’m crossing my fingers that this thing can hold up for at least a couple years. I plugged it in and started the “fast freeze” mode overnight. It reached -37C on both digital and analog thermometers by the next morning, although the digital display at the bottom corner says -40. Hopefully the compressor doesn’t die soon like others’ have.

If your looking to purchase a chest freezer this seller actually has them in stock (at least at the time of this review). If your hesitant just contact them before purchasing, they respond within 24 hours. I ordered two freezers, a 5 cu ft for my mom and a 3.5 cu ft for myself. I ordered these Sunday 9/27 and we both got them on Saturday 10/3, original delivery date was between 10/5 to 10/13. My mom's came in mint condition, mine's with a slight dent/scratch on corner but otherwise perfect. Being that I've been looking for chest freezers since July...I could care less about the dent; it doesn't take away the clean look of the freezer nor does it affects it's functioning. This freezer is quiet and does get cold fairly fast however still follow the directions and let it run for 24 hours before putting anything in. Now the price of the freezers were a little higher than I originally wanted to spend but they were no higher than the others I've seen on Amazon and with COVID-19...supply and demand. All in all I am very happy with my purchases, and I would buy again. I'll update this review if anything goes wrong with them...if there's no update assume both freezers are working just fine.😊

Several bullets here re. delivery, performance, noise, cord, footprint... Delivery Speed. I was happily surprised at how quickly the freezer came--just 3-4 days after I ordered it even though the promised window of delivery time was as much as a week longer. Delivery Quality & Freezer Performance. Whoever delivered it, delivered it upside down even though the box was clearly marked as to which way was up so amazon should work on that. That said, it appears to be working well. We have only had it on for 2 days and not yet filled it up so I can't speak to longer term performance. Delivery Condition: The slatted plate over the main venting area was bent outward but honestly, I can live with that. Compressor, Color, Noise Level. When the compressor is running, it is pretty quiet as mechanical things go, which I appreciate living in an apartment where space is tight. I really appreciate that it's black which is more "furniture-like" than white. Cord. For anyone who wants to know about the cord, it's black and comes out of the right side of the freezer (as you are facing it) near the bottom and is 60 inches long, plus the 3-pronged plug itself which is another 2 inches. You are NOT supposed to add any extension cord for safety reasons. So know where your outlets are and plan accordingly. Footprint/Space. You're also supposed to keep 5 inches of airspace all around it so it can vent properly which goes to the length of the life of the compressor and safety (fire?). Common sense stuff but people don't always know or read the manual so I'm putting that out there for apartment dwellers like me for whom every inch must be thought out with care.

Brought a bunch of salmon, halibut, and ling cod back from a fishing trip to Alaska and bought this fridge to hold it. It worked fine for JUST OVER A YEAR. Then it completely stopped working and I lost hundreds of dollars of amazing fish.
