Found these rod holders to be very similar in construction to others I've purchased. I don't need anything expensive and these fit the bill. My only issue when I first installed them was the fit was pretty loose. I could move them left and right which concerned me at first. The tolerances in the "gear" were not as good as the ones I've had in the past. After using them for a few trips I'm no longer concerned with the little wobble as I've caught many fish that have pulled hard on the rod holder before I was able to get to them and they have held up well. ... show more

At first I really liked these. I mounted them on my boat and started trolling. The problem is, the toothed part that allows it to rotate, has too small of teeth and so it has no holding power. If your rods are heavy at all they will fall down. Big disappointment.
