Es buena no es lo más fuerte del mundo pero hace el trabajo, lo único malo es que es muy corta, la herramienta así como viene no te va a servir vas a tener que buscar más tubos para hacer una extensión, es muy compacta cabe en la bolsa de herramientas como cualquier otra herramienta y los tubos largos los hecha uno en otro lado. para lo que pesa una stretcher normal está no pesa nada y hace más o menos lo mismo. works ok. for some reason, the head piece where the small rod inserts into the main pole is held in place by a plastic grommet that slides out when extending the carpet stretcher too far. not sure if that was design error or not. good price and you should know how to do carpet repair. i had carpet wrinkles due to improper installation. ... show more

Product broke within two minutes of taking it out of the box. The metal bands at the lever bent upon using the lever twice. This metal is very cheap, and cannot handle the task of stretching carpet. I am not sure how others have been able to use this product. The job I was doing was not difficult. My advice is to rent one at the rental center. I purchased it in October 2014, but did not open it until January 2015. As a result, the company has denied my request for a refund. They did not want to hear about the fact that it was just out of the box. ... show more

    • You can't get better for the money!!
I didn't know exactly what to expect when I read some of the reviews. However, most were pretty good so I thought I would give it a chance. I was pleasantly surprised when the stretcher arrived. Now understand, this is not a high dollar stretcher by any means, but for a do-it-yourself tool, it is surprisingly solid. I only found two little flaws that were both easily fixed. The piston that runs from the stretcher head to the adjustable rod was dry as a bone and wouldn't allow the stretcher to work properly, A little dab of grease and that problem was solved. Also, the piston slides in and out of a little guide that is inside the first tube. The guide moved down the tube because of the bind I put on it discovering that it needed greased. I took a long drill bit holder and placed it in the opposite end of the tube and applied enough pressure to reposition the guide to the top of the tube. Once I did this, the stretcher worked like magic. It is a great improvement over knee kickers and a lot less work. I used a four, six, and eight foot pieces of 2x4 to stretch across the room and found these to be perfect for every use I had. I would highly recommend this stretcher for anyone looking to put carpet in a few rooms. I wouldn't expect it to be useful for the professional, but for the occasional carpeting job, it's a perfect solution. ... show more

Product itself is great and well made. Problem I had as shipping. I purchased it as a "new" product but it was obvious it had been used before. it was partially assembled, not packaged well and did not have any literature accompanying it . . . directions for use or assembly.

A couple of years back, I paid an installer $175 for 20 minutes of work to take care of a couple of spots. I needed to stretch a few spots again, so I decided to take a chance on this product.
