This is a wonderful lamp for providing diffuse light in any room. The dark lampshade prevents it from creating the glare of direct light; most of the light is directed up to the ceiling and down to the floor. I'm using it behind the computer monitor in my home office, and it's just what I wanted: an easier-on-the-eyes alternative to having light shining directly into my eyes from the ceiling.     • Lamp shade joints broke, poor service if anything goes wrong outside of Amazon return window
This a very pretty lamp and sturdy base - unfortunately the lamp shade must not be the best craftsmanship, and customer service outside the Amazon return window was unhelpful. I won't be ordering this brand again: After only a month, I noticed one joints of the lamp shade had broken and it was hanging slightly crooked. I tried to address it with Amazon customer service, got disconnected, and then didn't get around to trying again until several weeks later - when I tried again, it was no longer within the Amazon return window and I was either going to have to return the whole lamp and pay a $45 restocking fee or do directly through the manufacturer (Adesso) and purchase a new lampshade for $30+shipping. i didn't bother with either for fear the same thing would happen again and I'd be out additional money. So now I have a pretty, pricey, yet somewhat crooked lamp, that I may try to solder myself 🤷♀️ ... show more
