NOT CORROSION RESISTANT! After only six months, the base has started to develop rust spots. I contacted Adesso due to that it is listed as "Corrosion Resistant" and since Amazon says there is a warranty. The warranty information on Amazon is incorrect because the email address listed was for a different company and when I contacted the actual manufacturer at adessohome.com I received the following response to my question if the rust spots were covered under a warranty: ____________________ Adesso does not make that claim. That description is Amazon’s description on their own website. We have never heard of any corrosion issues on any Adesso lamps. But every home is different. Thank you Diane Hudson Adesso Customer Service _____________________ Customer service makes it seem as they Adesso makes no claim to the product's quality or the warranty. I've never heard such a flippant response from a customer service department. I've had this light for almost two years now and it's one of my favorite things in my living room. Sturdy, minimalist, looks way more expensive than a $93 lamp. " Japanese paper" shade totally sounds cheesy, I know, like someone crafted a shade out of rice paper. Don't worry, it's just a really subtle texture of horizontal straight lines that run all the way around it. I feel like I'm going to have, and love!, this lamp for a long time. ... show more

Such a nice lamp, with a generous size shade. It's true that it's a little shorter than some floor lamps, but it works great behind our sofa for reading and working on our laptops. I haven't plugged this lamp in yet but I have to comment on its packaging. It was carefully, beautifully packed using cleverly cut and taped cardboard, not styrofoam. Assembling it was easy, too, and I have no mechanical ability. It's just a matter of screwing together the poles. I will update later after I've used the lamp for a while. Superb quality and design! Every once in a great while, I come across a product that impresses me for its simple yet elegant design. This is that product. It arrived today and the first thing I noticed in taking it out of the box was its hefty, sturdy, steel construction. I guess I expect most products at this price point to be made of cheap material, but this lamp makes use of good old steel, in a very elegant way. The base is solid and heavy - no wobbling like other floor lamps. The shade is white - perfect for modern decor - and has a slight horizontal pattern due to the fabric. Beautiful! I had it put together in 5 minutes and am enjoying the ambience this light gives my room. I'm already thinking about buying another for a guest room. Very highly recommended. One part was broken. There hasn't be a way to contact seller for a new "socket ring". Other than that, the lamp was easy to put together. The packaging was amazing. The lamp with white shade is amazingly bright, using a large led light bulb. It is large, just a bit big for my open floorplan, but moved to a corner, it will work out just fine, especially is I get a replacement "socket ring" which was broken upon opening the box. ... show more
