Overall this is a nice lamp for the money spent. It looks nice. Maybe a little too dim at full brightness but different bulbs are easily available. Really like the dimming feature. Negative is the looping and tucking of the wire between the switch and bulb. Maybe a much better idea to do this at the factory. It is a challenge and I can see many, many returns because it is a bit of a pain even for someone competent in DIY projects. Just not enough room for what you need to do. Otherwise it goes to gather pretty well. I found that assembly from the top to the bottom worked better. One nice feature that some find a negative is that the cord exits the bottom section just above the weighted base. I found this to be an outstanding feature because it keep the cord from being twisted by the successive assembly from top to bottom and then the unencumbered addition of the weighted base to the bottom section of the post. Some of the loops that hold the shade to the top and bottom frame are a bit shoddily done. I advise being very careful and taking your time. Can be very awkward to assemble the shade. A decent lamp if you are looking to light an area on a budget. Best for anyone not challenged by assembly glitches.

This lamp is one-of-kind to me, I love it. I knocked of one star because the shade was bent in one corner, and the stand is crooked so I had to place a piece of foam under one side of the base to even it out. Overall, it compliments my bohemian decor perfectly! Exactly what I was looking for.

I was hesitant to buy without reviews, but I took a chance and love the lamp! The base is VERY heavy, it sits very nicely on carpet. The metal looks and feels nice, assembly is easy. I’ll be purchasing a second lamp for the other side of my living room.

I recently moved into an apartment where there are no overhead lighting in the living room, so I needed something to brighten up the space. I received this lamp and was able to assemble it within 5 minutes. It's very easy to assemble with no tools required! It also comes with a bulb. I love the dimmable feature and that the dimming knob is located at eye-level. However, even at the brightest setting, it doesn't get very bright. It's more ambience lighting than bright lighting. Still, very beautiful and warms up my living room space.

What I liked: -very easy to set up and the instructions are very simple. It took me only about 10 minutes to set it up. -easy to operate. It has a dimmer switch and it’s very well constructed and the materials are very solid. This is quite surprising given the price. -it looks very nice and trendy and gives off great light. -You can change the bulb if you don’t like the soft yellow warm light and make it more bright and medical white but I prefer the yellow soft light that comes with it. -it is great at night when you can put it on the lowest setting and have just the right amount before you go to sleep. -it has a very sturdy base so you don’t have to worry about it tipping over or it moving or anything of that sort. -at the lowest possible light it does not flash or dim or go out temporarily when the power goes out or temporarily lowers for a couple of seconds like some other lamps do, if you know what I am talking about. It remains solid and steady This is a big plus for me personally because I find that very annoying. What I dislike: -some of the materials felt a little cheap as you can see in the pictures; the lamp cover is secured by a Velcro strap instead of being one solid piece. I can foresee this part being a potential problem in the future, deteriorating and needing to be fixed with tape more Velcro, or a replacement cover, but I will worry about that when the time comes. For now it is holding solid. -as I mentioned it comes with a soft yellow lightbulb I personally like it but others may want a bright white light. This is easily changed and it is a common bulb so it is not a problem. -it looks very similar to my other lamps which have a touchable base, which this is not. It would have been pretty neat if it was a touch lamp although it is not — it has a rotating button instead. This doesn’t bother me that much but it would have been nice if it was in fact, a touch lamp. Overall, I think this is a great buy, especially given the price and I don’t think you can go wrong with it. I would give it a five out of five without a doubt.. if there any issues, I will edit the review as needed but for now it is working perfectly and it looks great. It’s all you can ask for in a lamp. No flaws!

I have a corner of my living room taken over by an upright piano. No one plays it; we're just being pretentious. But, it is in the darkest corner of the room. If anyone were to play it, it'd be by ear because sheet music couldn't be read. No, really. When I saw this lamp, I knew it would fit right in between the right side of the piano and the staircase up to the second floor, illuminating that corner. The lamp shade, (ingeniously designed, BTW) you assemble yourself from the materials provided. What I liked most about the shade was that it did not allow any harsh light to glare through. It has a linen weave look. Each section of this lamp screws perfectly into each adjacent section (it's pre-wired). The ON/OFF|dimmer switch is located within the goldtone section. All other stand sections are finished in a powder paint black matte finish. The instructions are helpful, surprisingly. The base is relatively weighty. The supplied lamp is tubular, clear glass with a long LED filament. It glows at 3,000 degrees Kelvin, which is a warm yellow color. That's a bit too warm for me, so I've ordered another LED bulb which glows at 4,000 degrees Kelvin, a wavelength I find more pleasing, and whiter, to my eyes, at least, and at a higher wattage, so it can illuminate a greater area, if need be. Despite all its virtues, my wife likes it which is the main reason I ordered it. I'm no fool.
