Review edit: The calibration instructions in the booklet are rather unclear, but the company reached out quickly after my first review and helped me resolve my issue. Original review: The lights are nice, but we can't use any of the presets because if we select green we get red lights. Selecting blue gets us green and red is blue. So, the app is basically useless unless we figure out how to make our own presets, which seems complicated, especially when the colors don't match! Our choices are to live with what the mismatched presets get us or a solid color. You also have to be very close to where it's plugged in to connect via Bluetooth. I'd recommend a wifi connecting set of lights. I'd return them if my husband hadn't spent hours screwing them onto the house already. So disappointing and frustrating considering the cost and time spent. We tried contacting the company but haven't heard back.

I do not recommend these. I live in a cold weather area where we get a fair amount of snow. I got these installed on my home just before the snow and cold his my area and the lights worked well for the first few weeks. Then the trouble started. 1. The lights will turn on randomly. I will wake in the morning and they will be on but I know they were off when I went to bed. 2. They will randomly change effect/color. 3. I have 4 lights that will not change color any more. They stay on as red no matter what color I change them too. 4. They connect via bluetooth and the range is terrible. I have to be right net to the lights to turn them on or off and sometimes the app locks up and I have to go outside to unplug the lights to get them to turn off. Another noteworthy complaint is the app and the lack of functionality. You can't really program them. You can design your own presets but they work intermittently. I have found that I need to unplug them and plug them in again to reset them. Even then, they still don't work for long. Pure garbage and I regret the time I wasted up on a ladder installing them because I will have to replace them once the weather allows.

Pros: Bright, vibrant colors with lots of effects App and remote give many customization options Lights look great once installed Weatherproof so far Cons: Installation was time-consuming and tricky App connection wasn’t always stable Instructions could be clearer Adhesive mounting didn’t feel very secure in some spots Once everything was finally set up, the lights looked nice and worked well, but the setup frustration took away from the overall experience. If you’re very tech-savvy and patient, these may be a good option—but they’re not as “easy” as advertised.

Last Friday I installed the addlon LED strips around my porch roofline and along the pool fence — and man, what a transformation. As soon as I powered them up, the house looked like a festive light show. I used the app to set a soft-blue glow for the evening — the light washed the house in a calm, cool color that looked awesome against the night sky. Then later that night when some friends came by, I switched colors to a warm amber-y glow while we lit the fire pit — and that cozy vibe came together instantly. Changing colors with the remote was easy and fun — felt like customizing the mood depending on dinner, chill drinks, or late-night chatter by the pool. The lights are bright but not harsh, and they look like they’re built for outdoors: even after a bit of rain, they kept glowing without flicker or water issues. The installation was straightforward — I mounted clips under the eaves and routed the strip cleanly along the house. If you want to upgrade your outdoor space — create a vibe for summer nights, parties, or just chill evenings by the pool — this addlon kit is a solid pick. I’m really happy I got it.

This is a nice set of lights for the money. Easy to install, well packaged and it had all the listed parts. Now the lights themself: They get bright enough for what I wanted however the RED is very dim even at 100% power and all colors are a little washed out but for the money not bad. Now the software: This is the place it is lacking. Now it could be me but I can't get it to save anything I setup as a custom. I can't even get it to let me make a custom scene anymore. I could once and that was it. They need to at lest have a link to find out more on how to use the software. Again it could be on me. I did ask a question and they got back with me just fine but question was not on the software. Would I buy them again? Yes to see if I liked the setup around the house. If I knew I was going to like it the way I do I may look into a better set however I would have to pay more or even much more money. Update: I just found our from support that the software DYI part to adjust anything from the presets or to make your own light show other then what they give you can not be done and they don't know if or when it will be fixed. I wouldn't buy this set myself. If you just want what they give you around 30 or so presets then fine. Update: They did offer me $20 off the list price I paid for them because of the software just not working like it was listed to do. I had the lights up already or I would have returned them. I can't program anything with the software not even the time to come on and the time to go off. It just doesn't work. Now as they know they are junk they have lowered the price to under $40. I paid like $90 for them if I remember right with the $20 off they gave me I still have like $70 in them. They should refund me even more to the lower price IMHO. Just really sucks because I'm an older man and it took me three days to put them up. I was suckered IMHO.

Don't waste your money on these lights. We were missing directions, we could not locate the correct app that made them function, the mounting screws were too small and not enough for the occasional dropped. If that tiny screw dropped from roof top height, it was gone. Allllll of that could have been overlooked, they looked pretty and did eventually sync to music, but only if outside. However.... this past week when they came one, a freaking third of them were out!!!! There are 2 100ft strands and it is on 2 different strands!!! My husband wants to rip them from the house! Now we can't turn them on because they are a neon flashing sign of -GUESS WHO DIDN'T BUY THE FANCY LIGHTS! Even if they gave a free replacement, I would BURN THEM!!! We put them up mid December- it is the end of February- they did not last 90 FREAKING DAYS!!!! WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!
