I didn't realize when ordering this that it required batteries (I thought it was rechargeable), but that didn't stop me from attempting to use it. Unfortunately, we can not get it to turn on at all. Fresh batteries, followed the instructions, pressed the buttons/switches, nothing. We got a dud.

This little device is handy for attaching to odd spots that need ad hoc, on-demand illumination, especially where no permanent electrical or solar-powered option is available. We used this for a stairwell that didn't have the first and obviously couldn't have the second. It worked splendidly once positioned where it would do the most good in both detecting movement and illuminating the stairwell. The ACGOOD Portable Motion Sensor Indoor/Outdoor 3 Modes Flood Security Lights is a sturdy, small, durable, Motion detecting light, that is built to last. I ordered this to replace something similar that we have had for many years. The light on our old one still works but the motion sensor had stopped working. Over the years we used that light in all kinds of situations and I'm sure it will be the same with this. This light is an improvement over our old light. It offers some things that the old light didn't have. This light came with several mounting options, including magnets on the back, a stand, and a tripod. The globe can be pointed in any direction so you can set the area where you want the motion sensor to trip on. The three mounting options and the globe shape make the light easy to rotate in any direction. It can be rotated down to just light up a path at night, when it detects motion. It's not a particularly bright light and it's definitely not a spotlight, It will however cover any area inside a house, and enough of the outside to be able to see somebody coming through a gate or approaching a back porch or window. This could definitely be used to improve the picture that a camera will transmit at night. This can also be permanently mounted outside and left in your yard, or carried around like a flashlight. You can opt to have the light either off, on, or set to motion detect. It turns itself off when it doesn't detect motion in about 45 seconds or so. This type of light is just handy to have around, and useful in many situations. We always set a motion detector up outside of our tent while we're camping, to help us find our shoes and flashlights outside the tent in the dark. It also alerts us if an animal or person is outside near our tent. Even if we weren't awake, it's likely to discourage anything from approaching. I'm very happy to have this. I thought the motion sensor didnt work but another motion sensor camera says it has to be dark to work, and that was true for this one, too. dont give up too soon on it!

This motion sensor light works fairly well. It would be nice if it was brighter. I placed it in a tree near the chicken coop in hopes it will frighten away any raccoons, foxes etc.
