This is way more than I was expecting! I worried that having a keypad would throw me off. In two days my automatic adjustments were done and there's no issues using any keyboard function(s). The laptop I'm replacing will go on to be my great nieces first computer if my niece wants. Absolutely no issues other user influenced slowness. All in all this is a superb laptop whether it's a first, addition to your computing lineup or as in my case a replacement. Feel secure ordering this one. Amazom's delivery is fast and support is fantastic. Just make sure you read in its entirety the statement regarding "returns accepted through..." and warranty. I've ordered many refurbished items and would again without hesitancy. On many occasions Amazon's return/warranty policies is better than manufacturers. (03.18.24) i've had this new (2023) acer 17.3" chromebook for several weeks now, so i'm able to log some reasonably credible comments. for my fairly simple, straightforward use style (i'm not a gamer), i LOVE it. it's quick and responsive, the picture is amazingly crystal clear, battery life is good, overall functionality is terrific, and i really love the titanium grey color. i don't mind the extra weight at all - the larger screen is worth it. what i got for the price is great. the one and only complaint i have at this early point is on the speakers - the volume is weak and disappointing, and that's why the 4 stars. it's most noticeable with movies. if anyone can offer fixes to increase the volume, i'd appreciate. lastly, the unknown for now is customer service. will update this review if i need to interact with the seller down the road. fingers crossed all will continue well, and i won't need to. it took me awhile to get this laptop - for some reason it was unavailable for awhile. glad i waited for it. :) ... show more

I have been a long-time user of Apple products at home, and PC products for work. I needed a new laptop and couldn't justify the cost of a new Macbook when I primarily use my laptop for writing, presentations, and internet research (and I have started using Google Drive for writing and presentations). I am new to Chromebooks and am absolutely amazed at the versatility of this Acer device that I purchased for approximately 1/3 of what I would have paid for a Macbook Air. The screen is brilliant, the keyboard has a great touch, and the trackpad is the best I've ever used. It has all the power I need (although I have yet to do any video editing, but will in the near future). Note, though, that this particular Chromebook is not light. With the 17" screen, full numeric keypad, and built-in upward facing speakers, it feels like a laptop. I have an older Macbook Air that was my preferred go-to device, but I haven't picked it up since my Acer Chromebook arrived. I thought I would like the Chromebook, but I am surprised by how MUCH I like it. ... show more

It is a pretty good laptop. I was a little upset I didn't notice that it does not have a Ethernet port however the wifi card it has, so far, has been sufficient for what I use it for. Pretty thin and has nice display.

Looked nice. Good price. Got it out of the box and started it and NEVER USED IT! It FROZE UP ON ME and couldn't get anyone to fix it. Its been terrible trying to return. They don't help, and want me to do all the work. Even after I told them I am disabled and need help. The 3rd one that fell apart on me. Won't let me return the last one I bought 4 months ago. Purchased this to replace a smaller chromebook purchased about 3 years ago.....needed a larger screen so I did not have to resort to reading glasses....I check email, stream and 3 years ago moved my files to google drive using an upgraded storage. This has enough storage if I want to keep some files, but otherwise is a GREAT laptop. Of course a little large to sit in the lap, but it's very sturdy, LOVE the rubber strips on the bottom that keep it from sliding on my desk. LOVE that it can be charged from either side. Have not seen any downside to this, well worth the price, 399 I paid for it. The Power cord no longer charges the laptop, just over 60 days after using the laptop. ... show more
