This product page tells you to check dimensions carefully before ordering, but fails to tell you one very important measurement: the distance between the two screw holes. For the record, it's 11 1/8" from center to center, which did not match with the ductwork in my home. It's also different from every 10x6 register they had at the store, so I'm betting it's not standard. My advice: Don't bother ordering this online, just go to a hardware store with the old register in hand, and match them up yourself. Fit perfect, REMEMBER the size is the duct size NOT the outside dimension size of the cover Was a snap, to replace the old rusted duct cover, maybe 5 min Nice QUALITY white cover grill, and came with the two long installation screws. This size was not at Home Depot, Wasted an hour going there to figure that out, No One on the floor had a clue as to how to choose the correct cover size, Wasted two trips to figure this out, Now I know how to get the correct cover size, Don't measure the grill grate. Also the Home Depot grill grates do not come with the two simple long installation screws, got to buy that extra for another $2.50. Take it OFF the grill grate and THAN measure the duct size. The duct size dimensions are what you want to use to choose your new grill grate, OR to do an online search at Amazon or elsewhere to get the correct cover grate. ... show more

This is a good replacement for many situations. It is fairly sturdy, and the shutters operate easily. I certainly would not install this in a floor where there is any foot traffic, as it is substantially lighter construction than my older registers; for wall locations, this is not an issue. The overall size was about 1/2 inch longer and wider than my old registers. As some of my old ones were right against an adjoining wall, this register wouldn't fit those locations. No foam gasket is provided between the register and the wall, so unless you caulk or add your own gasket, there is the chance that leaking air will smudge the wall over time. ... show more

I had all the ceilings in my home worked to remove the popcorn surface effect and replace all the 'taping' to produce a fresh-as-new appearance. I wanted new vent duct registers to complete the clean look. These are sturdy. I improved the open/close function by applying and working in a bit of axle grease onto the lever mechanism. (It's always frustrating to go to close a vent and the lever is stuck) I used as little as possible as dust in the air will accumulate on excess grease. ... show more

Alright so the item itself is fine. Material is great and the mechanisms work fine. Comes with everything you need to install it. My gripe? Is it's actually a little larger than I needed. It fits the vent, let me get that straight. It says to measure the hole of the vent so it fits right which makes perfect sense and it does fit. Thing is, the outside is bigger than my old one so it means I'll have to drill a new hole in my wall to accommodate this. Doesn't sound like a big deal but because the old house already had specific holes for the vent (like the vent had an outside with holes meant for the grill) I'll now have to make additional holes. Kind of a pain. I feel like there should be an accurate measurement for the vent and outside to make sure it fits 💯 ... show more

It's hard to get excited about an ac vent cover but when you compare this new, clean, fully functional vent cover to the dirty, thickly painted, non functioning cover it replaced, one can muster a little excitement. Everything fit well. Measure the opening as others have mentioned. The included screws did what they needed and are painted the same white as the cover. I don't know how many years the plastic louver knob will work but right now you can open/close the vent with a minimum amount of labor. This one is less complicated(fewer parts) than the one it is replacing and that means less to get nasty dirty. Overall very pleased. ... show more

This is a great unit. I ordered the 12 inch by 6 inch unit, based on the size of the ventilation hole in our ceiling. My wife was having trouble sleeping, as the register that was on the ceiling routed the cold air from our air conditioner right on her body. But I like how the Accord register moves the air to the sides. The vanes on the inside of the unit had come loose on one side, but it was easily fixed in under a minute, so that doesn't affect my review. Some people have said that they had to drill new holes, but mine lined up with the pre-existing holes in the ceiling with no problem. ... show more

These registers look great. Quality materials. Huge improvement over the old cheap ones that used to be there. Don’t make the same mistake I did and order floor registers! (They don’t come with screws or holes.)
