The chocolate color is as expected. The wood grain is very elegant looking. The bed was easy to assemble. I only needed help holding the headboard steady while attaching side rails. All the holes lined up with ease. We have a very heavy mattress on it, and there is no squeaking, and I see no reason why this bed would break, as stated in other reviews. It is durable, beautiful, and has very nice height to the headboard so the detail shows well. We are very happy with this purchase!

I've bought beds on Amazon before, and they were okay. Metal, lightly easy to put together, not super sturdy but does the trick. So my expectations were pretty down there, as long as it lifted the bed off the floor I would have been happy. BUT... This bed is GORGEOUS! Was deeply surprised by the wood quality and color, it is absolutely gorgeous! The assembly was beyond simple, very well thought out packaging for the hardware (they even provided extras! and tools!), and the instructions were simple, clear and concise. Once put together, it was so sturdy! We moved the bed around with ease, no warping or cracking or swaying or worry. There is enough room for under the bed storage, but not so high up that it is an effort to get up. Last but not least, they included the cutest BEST smelling candle! It was the most lovely surprise while unwrapping the bed pieces! They really nailed it on all the small details. I am sincerely in love with this bed. I am going to recommend this bed to literally everyone I come into contact with!!!

We bought this frame for our guest bedroom. We set it up a few weeks ago and initially loved the frame. Was easy to assemble and looked amazing. Seemed extremely sturdy and a quality piece. We went into the guest bedroom earlier this week and noticed that one of the wood joints had sagged causing a huge crack to appear in the center of the side support. We were a little frustrated and disappointed with the defective piece but understand the nature of manufacturing. The real frustration came with our attempt to get a replacement piece. Amazon is requiring us to deconstruct the ENTIRE bed, somehow find a box big enough to fit everything in, and then have UPS pick up from our house with an adult present, but provides absolutely no scheduling options. Beyond frustrating and beyond unreasonable.
