We were nervous bc of some of the reviews but overall it was a great purchase! - 30” chairs for our 44” bar table in the kitchen - color was perfect - matte black - size was good (I wear size 14 pants and was nervous of the “small seat” comments in reviews) I fit perfectly! - 4 stars because we were missing 1 screw but we have those style screws in our garage so no worries - easy to put the backs on - the backs lean slightly back and not too forward like the other reviews. Sitting is comfortable for all the sizes of people in our family lol I wouldn’t suggest making a decision to buy based on reviews. It looks like a mixed bag but we were fortunate and got an awesome product for a great price.

Exceeded my expectations y’all! Full disclosure- this wasn’t my first choice. But since we’re a military family stationed overseas in Okinawa... I had to be reasonable. I ordered the bar stools and expected to ‘get what I paid for’... but when the product arrived (1) a few days earlier than expected (amidst the COVID madness) and (2) the box packaging had a personalized touch... I was thrilled! The seats came almost fully assembled- all it needed was the back rests to be attached. That process was so simple, I allowed my 10 and 12 year old boys to do it for me. It’s now weeks later, and the stools are still good as new. There’s 6 of us in the house, and they’re used daily- including my husband who’s 6’4/250 lbs. The stools are light weight, yet don’t feel flimsy. If anything, the only issue (a minor one) i can think of, is that the seats themselves- the area for the tush- feels a bit small. But in all honesty, I’ve sat in less comfortable stools that were double the price. So all in all, for my family and our budget... these stools were a bargain. I’d definitely recommend it to friends and purchase again. I’d actually consider buying regular sized chairs in this style to match the rest of my dining room if it’s available.

Let's go through the positives... for the price of these barstools I had low expectations, they are not going to be crate n barrel quality. I have 2 boys who destroy everything so expensive is a waste around here. I am pleasantly surprised! So the upsides... 1. Super easy to assemble took me about 20 minutes to put together 4 while feeding a toddler and they are light weight! 2. Look super cute in my farmhouse kitchen renovation, truly matte black 3. Easy to clean up after my kids, soap and water approved! 4. Tall barstools! 5. Came well packaged A few down falls... 1. The seats itself is pretty small. My kids fit perfect, I'm 5'1 115lbs and I fit comfortably on it, my husband who is 5'10 185lbs is okay on it for short periods but my dad who is 5"11 270lbs can barely get a thigh on it and questioned its ability to hold him up. (I never checked the weight limit) 2. They make your but hurt after about 10-15 minutes so I'll end up buying some cushions to go on them. Overall I am impressed with these inexpensive barstools! I was expecting complete crap and got 4 gems that can withstand my 2 wild boys. The reviews had me weary of the quality but I went for it and am happy I did! Like I said they are not going to be the same as the expensive designer ones so if thats what you want then stop looking at $99 barstools. If you want cute and versatile and don't mind the small seat then these will do the trick!

Turns out the backs on these stools make sitting in them very uncomfortable. It tends to push you forward out of the seat when you try to relax. These are also significantly over priced compared to similar chairs with no backs. Save your money and just get the metal bar stools with no backs. We ended up removing the backs to make sitting in them more comfortable. The finish on the bar stools look quite nice, but at this point we paid double for standard bar stools.

All in all...this isn't a bad purchase. The backs of these chairs just aren't practical. The seat dimensions itself are pretty average for most bar stools, but the backs send you sliding off of the seat. That's the main problem. It's a great look, but it isn't practical. I'm probably just going to end up removing them. They are surprisingly sturdy for the price point and have rubber feet to keep your floors from getting scratched up. There was some sort of inconsistency in the design on the backs. I ordered 2 sets of these at the same time. One of the sets has a rectangular design on the back and the other set has an OPEN rectangular design on the backs. One of the backs from one of the sets also seems to have one large area where it didn't get hit with enough paint. Like I said, it's not a bad purchase. Just not quite what I had hoped for. Oh well. 🤷♀️

I was excited to get these stools since they're just what I was looking for. I opened the box right away only to find dents along the legs and zero backrests in the box! (I double-checked, and no, the backrests weren't supposed to arrive in a separate package.) I could tell the stool bases were the right ones, not the basic backless stools, because they had holes where the backs were supposed to be screwed on. Ugh.

***edited to add that they did confirm we were accidentally sent the wrong ones. They are replacing them for us and we are happy with our customer service experience. 2 stars added for that.*** We ordered these chairs a year ago and loved them! They were perfect for our space! So, we just ordered or “reordered” the exact same chair via the “buy it again” option. The same “distressed black” and the chairs that came today are totally different! They are matte, where the ones we got before are shiny. They are streaked or “distressed” with gold paint where our ones from before are a copper color. The texture is even different! We ordered the same thing so that we could add them as more seating to the bar where we already had them and these look ridiculous next to each other. Disappointed. The chairs we got before were excellent, but the ones we got today are a lot cheaper looking. Just as sturdy, but looks nothing alike.
