  • perfect for my needs
Color: Black Size: 4"
decided to order this but was somewhat concerned about other reviews. it isn't loud at all. much quieter than our bathroom exhaust. it doesn't draw a ton of air, but i don't need it to. provides quiet ventilation and is easy hookup. the controls worked perfectly for my set up, but you may want to read up on how it's controlled. very pleased with this purchase so far ... show more

  • It works
Color: Black Size: 4"
I am using this to vent fumes from a resin 3d printer out a window and it works very well. The lowest setting is very low and perfect for what I am using it for. The highest setting is really strong,. It will pull a lot of air. It makes a bit of noise but I barely notice it while it's running. So far I have had it running for around 100 hours worth of prints and it's still going. No new noises or any difference from right out of the box. ... show more

  • Pay attention to description: "not suitable in restricted airflow applications."
Color: Black Size: 4"
I bought this to use with a laser engraver enclosure with a 3" hose. I used an adapter to connect to the 4" fan. With the restrictions from the 3" hose and a couple of gentle 90 degree bends, the output was abysmal, even with the enclosure's little mini-fan running full blast. I wish I'd thought about the design and I wish I'd noticed that the item description said "not suitable in restricted airflow applications". I'm switching to a different type of fan. This type (little steel windmill blades) won't do the trick no matter the power. The parts and construction appeared to be of sufficient quality. If you're using it for an HVAC duct with no significant restrictions, it might do ok. That said I'd suggest getting a 200+ CFM unit with an impeller instead of a propeller type fan. The impeller should handle restrictions a lot better. ... show more

  • Nice fan, but much lower cfm
Color: Black Size: 4"
Nice little fan. AC infinity products seem to be very nice quality, design, fit and finish. However, from the few I've purchased the advertised cfm seems to be very optimistic. There is no way this fan is close to 106 cfm. Same goes with the other couple ac infinity fans I've got, compared to tjerlund and fantech fans advertised cfm that I have, which seem far more realistic. Example: the tjerlund 75 cfm register fan pushes more air than this thru a 4 inch duct, based on a simple test using a one way flapper oriented vertically (and horizontally) and noting how far it pushes it open. As well as a simple feel test with the hand. If the tjerlund number is correct being 75 cfm, I would guess this fan is closer to 50 cfm, nowhere near 106 cfm... ... show more

  • Good for the money
Color: Black Size: 4"
Update: 5/12/22 - Well the day after I made this review I had to stop using this fan. Twice since I've bought it I've smelled burning plastic that would last for some time, and then go away. I wanted to assume the last time it happened it was others in the house cooking something different, but as I talked to them there was nothing they cooked that would have smelled like that. Of course this concerned me a great deal and as nothing else has changed in this house and the only electrical device recently purchased and used was this fan, I thought maybe it was that. I smelled around the fan and got nothing, zero. That is until I smelled the rotary dial switch on it. Yup, that was the smell. I took the switch apart and while there isn't any burn signs, it smells exactly like what I was smelling. I'm positive that's what it was and now afraid to even plug it in anymore. I've also unfortunately had to go back to a very stuffy room again until I find something safer. It's too bad, this thing was great until that happened. It's also scary, because I ran this thing while I was asleep and would leave the house to go somewhere. It could have burned down the whole house with or without me in it. Not recommended any longer. Original Review - I bought this to pull air out of the vent of my bedroom, hence bringing fresh air into it via the house duct system. I basically live in my bedroom with my door closed and it gets very stuffy and it's unhealthy to be so closed off. I sealed off the rest of the vent with tape and this sits up against it, sucking the air out when the AC isn't on. My idea worked and my room is much less stuffy now and definitely healthier. As far as a detailed description, well it's much higher quality than I expected for the price and it works very well. It was heavier than I thought which is a good thing, and it's powerful enough to suck that air out of the duct and get it into my room. At first I thought running it on high all the time might generate heat but there is none that I can feel and it runs almost nonstop. The only complaint I could make about this fan is the blades are supposed to be balanced and the bearings silent. While it's not very noisy, a slight rattle can be heard. This isn't a problem for me as I also have earbuds in my ears much of the time so I don't hear it. But for those who are really picky about something like that I'm just letting you know it's there on mine. It's actually barely audible over the actual air blowing through the fan, which is very soothing when I am hearing it. Overall I'm very satisfied with this product and I just hope it keeps doing what it does. It's been a life saver for me. ... show more

  • Quiet and works great!
Color: Black Size: 4"
I have two of these as intake/exhaust for a geodome. The dome has very weird acoustics so everything is loud in there, but not these things. They’re super quiet and very powerful. Definitely get the matching insulated ducting, though. I used the cheap stuff from Home Depot with one and it’s much louder than the other which I used the nice ducting that this company sells so I just bought some more of the good stuff. Pictured: you can see the black exhaust duct but you wouldn’t even know there was a fan in it. It fits perfectly inside the duct and all you see is a little cord sticking out. ... show more
