This is the greatest thing I've ever purchased. My bedroom is in the back of the apartment and is always freezing cold in the winter. We've tried everything to get the heat pushed in, but nothing has helped. I've even gone as far as a space heater, but after the 3rd one was recalled for starting fires, I didn't really want to continue with them. This was easy to set up, it has like a 14 foot long cord, and it started helping IMMEDIATELY. Yes, there is a sound when it turns on, but it's really a white noise sound so it's not irritating (unless you need total silence to sleep...). I sleep with an air purifier that makes noise and usually a TV show so i welcome the white noise. Worth every penny and I'm sad I didn't figure this out years ago.

I purchased this booster fan to bring additional heat to a bedroom in the northwest corner of my house. The bedroom is quite cool in the evening. The register fan worked very well but keep reading to get the full story. Installation of the fan was extremely simple. I removed the old register cover and this unit fit exactly into the space, with the circulation fans, sticking deeper into the wall cavity. My electrical outlet unfortunately was on the left side of the unit, about 3 inches away, so I had to wrap it around the register with the additional cord management piece they provide. The register is held in place with two screws. One screw went in perfectly using the old screw hole, the other screw hole didn’t match up so I had to drill it out, which only took a minute. Once the unit was mounted on the wall, I plugged it in. There are 3 settings you need to adjust based on your personal preference and the room temperature: Fan speed, activation temperature for heating and activation temperature for cooling. Remember you are not setting the desired temperature of the room. Since this room is usually a bit chilly, I did not want the fan to start blowing cold air thinking it was in air conditioning mode. So, I lowered the temperature of the air conditioning activation to 60 degrees. I wanted the fan to start as soon as hot air is blowing from the furnace, so I lowered the heating activation to 76 degrees. I turned up the furnace and watch the temperature climb on the unit and once it got to 76 degrees the fan start working and it was pulling more heat into the room. I might have to adjust the hot and cold activation temperatures in the summer when the room is a bit warm, so it is not blowing warm air if the room is 76 degrees or above and instead just comes on when the air conditioning has activated. I did increase the fan to speed 7 over the next couple of nights, so it was providing quite a bit of heat, but not so noisy as to be a bother when you are sleeping. Overall, it has helped tremendously with getting a more comfortable temperature for the room. I feel it was a good investment. The good: Unit works just as advertised, very flexible for setting activation temperatures and fan speeds. Easy to install. Seems like it will be very durable. The bad: It doesn’t turn off when it is activated until the temperature sensor is above or below what you have specified, no matter what the temperature of the room becomes. And the big thing is of course, it does not help at all, when the furnace/air conditioner are not running. So there are times when the room is still a bit cool, because the rest of the house is at the desired temperature for the thermostat and the furnace is not running. What I wish: I wish they would partner with EcoBee thermostats and could activate the register fans when the furnace fan is running. Also, they could be a remote temperature sensor for the thermostat.

The Good: - easy install - if you have power within several feet - very good airflow even at half max (level 5) - looks nice The Bad: - noisy at 8/9/10 setting - if you need dead quiet, you may be disappointed, but it's not bad - temp sensor for me is useless - it detects temp inside fan unit which is nothing like what's in the room - needs external sensor I'm using it to reduce heat in an equipment closet in a recording studio - the closet is where the computer is and can get warm. I had some old computer fans rigged to do this and decided it was time to do it right. This is a much better solution. Originally, I was exhausting the air from the closet into an adjacent room and that didn't work so well. I installed this unit inside the closet pulling air into the closet from the cooler adjacent room. It made the install very easy and clean as there is power there, and it works much better that way. Even at level 5, there's a steady stream of cold air blowing into the computer area, and it lowers the room temp by 3-4 degrees very quickly. With the door closed I don't hear the fan or the computer. In the adjacent room, it is still quiet.
