  • Pure pleasure to work with
Some fittings will make you want to scream when installing them on flexible duct and the others will make you even angrier. And then there are these. If it were possible I would declare that all duct fittings and really all duct should be made by whoever AC Infinity has make these. As soon as you see the package you know this is going to be different, open the box and hold the actual fitting, heavy weight, nice, smooth finish, no rough or sharp edges. I've never seen anything this different from your everyday average ductwork materials. This is before I even tried to put flex duct on it, which had to be done from the top of a ladder, in a hot room that is getting hotter by the minute when the exhaust isn't connected. It might have taken me longer to climb the short step ladder than it did to slip the tubing onto both ends of this fitting. Like Buttah! If I could get every fitting from these guys or somebody like these guys, the world would be a better place. A+++ ... show more

  • great product
I got the first back-draft damper from HD and wasn't happy with the heaviness of the damper, it only opened with a heavy draft which doesn't work for the kitchen exhaust. We have the issue that we have air flowing back from the kitchen exhaust and since ours and the neighbors (yay condo living) is right next to each other, every time they got their food going and exhaust running, our exhaust is pulling in the air and the stench from the food is coming right out of our microwave. We can turn the microwave on once we catch it, but if no one is in the kitchen for a bit, the smell is already penetrating the whole kitchen/dining/living area. The backdraft damper prevents the outside air from coming back in and even though it isn't a perfect solution, I feel it works pretty good. Installation is pretty easy and the quality is pretty great compared to the first one I bought at a local store. ... show more

  • Keeps the light in and the bugs out
First off I use this in a way it's not meant to be used; however, it works excellent as an exhaust vent for my grow tent. I just set it in the duct hole and left it with no duct on. When my ac infinity duct fan turns on to level 1 it is opened. Works like a charm to keep light and humidity in but bugs out ... show more

  • Removed draft from microwave fan vent
We had a draft during cold weather that could be felt inside the micro and under (somewhat). Also could smell smoke from chimney in micro when we had fire going. I decided to get a damper and glad I did. This unit worked great with a minor modification. I was comparing models and others have foam where the damper closes, this one did not but has a convenient built-in reducer making it a little easier to retro fit. I simply added some camper foam around the bottom of the flaps to give it a better internal seal. Maybe not needed but worth a few minutes to add. I cut out a section of the pipe and removed the bottom part from where it attaches to the micro vent. Inserted the damper to the top piece of pipe. I did have to take apart the bottom piece of pipe, wrap it around the re-latch the pipe then slid into position on damper. Used HVAC tape to seal really well. It would have been easier if I were to remove roof vent or micro, but I did not want to do either, so this method worked. TLDR: Had a cold air issue from Micro Vent, Retro fitted this damper in. No more cold air! ... show more

  • Sturdy easy flow
The media could not be loaded. Had a drafty kitchen exhaust. Couldn't believe that there wasn't a backdraft preventer in there. This was easy to install. It's very sturdy product, maybe even an overkill for my purpose. There are nice rubber gaskets built into the duct part. I used aluminum duct tape, anyway, so all the nice features weren't really needed, but if you don't have the tape, it's nice to have. The flap opens with the minimum fan speed, which i tried out before installing it fully. ... show more

  • Easy install and quiet
Installed this on the vent for my above the range microwave vent. All I had to do was cut the vent and insert this and tape it back up. I can't hear it at all and it keeps the drafts out. Before my microwave and the wall behind it would be freezing when it was cold in the morning. Now it is room temperature all the time. ... show more

  • Great fan
I installed it as a bathroom fan. Way quieter than the existing fan at low speeds, draws enough air at higher speeds to make the toilet paper flap in the breeze. Good construction and easy to clean. Only criticism is I wish the fan control could be made to install easily in a two gang box. I did this but it required a bit of work to open the faceplate a bit and solder directly to the electronics to eliminate having to use the plug. ... show more

  • Very Happy with purchase!
We were unable to find one of these anywhere local and would have had to wait more than 2 weeks if ordered elsewhere. We needed a dehumidifier installed ASAP. We decided to give this a try. This item seems to be better quality than the other ones we were looking at but I was worried because I suffer from a condition called Multiple Chemical Sensitivities and it is very difficult to find anything that I don't react to. Most things must off-gas for weeks, months to years before I can use them and this would be placed into our HVAC system. This product is powder coated so we think it will last longer as well. Although like everything else, I reacted to it at first but after a couple days my husband installed it and I am happy to say that I didn't notice any major odor and was able to use the system. Thanks for a quality product that we were able to get so fast. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone and would purchase again. ... show more
