AVOID Abu Garcia, as it is no longer reputable. Feels cheap and poor quality. Such a shame. Thought I’d give it a try since it was my favorite brand in the 70s-80s. (Mitchell Garcia) I have never broken a rod in my life. This combo had issues from the start. The reel tangled line during casts and as soon as fish took the bait, locked up and then snapped in half. The rod felt and cast great for about a month. Was tossing it out yesterday and the front two eyelets of the rod snapped off during the cast. Aside from that it was easy to cast (if you know how to use a bait caster).
