I have no idea why, but my over 13 year old dog's tears irritate his skin enough that he had a large raw area below the eye, slightly on the other eye. He would frequently rub it on his doggy bed, which didn't help. I used some of my non steroidal eczema gel. I did confirm safe for use on pets. It helped a little, but he apparently didn't like how it felt so he'd rub it off. I came across this and decided to give it a try. It didn't irritate him so he wasn't rubbing it. In just a couple days I started noticing a difference. It took about a week of daily use to nearly clear it up. Within the second week the hair was growing back. There is still a very small exposed part of skin just below the tear duct. It's always a little wet so it's taking a bit longer. But it definitely works wonders for him. ... show more
