This canopy actually turned out pretty nice! It's plenty tall enough and wide enough for my grill. I have a 36" griddle grill that fits with a little room to spare. It also has an awning that you can open for a little extra shade over maybe a side table. There are two built in shelves and one has a set of hooks for hanging things. The top is vented to let out smoke. Assembly took about a 1-2 hours and the instructions were nothing more than pictures. If you're not good at assembling furniture, this might be a chore. I found it manageable and didn't have too many issues, though I had my son as a helper. The cloth top is pretty easy to put on and take off. There are plastic pieces used to put tension on the corners of the roof canopy, and I have some concerns about longevity in the weather, but so far they work great. The feet are capped and under the caps are holes that can be used for anchors. There are some simple tent stakes provided for dirt and some screws for wooden decking. I have some concerns as mine is on concrete, but that's more location not design. Things I think could be better. Personally, I'd like it a little bigger. It's longer than it is wide. I'd like it to be square, with both sides being the longer length. I also feel like it could be a little bit studier. It sways a little bit fully assembled. A shelf or bar across the back side would solidify it quite a bit and eliminate the side to side movement. Also, the canopy goes together, mostly without tools. However the plastic "wing" heads on the bolts had a tendency to come off when tightening the bolts down during assembly. It wasn't horrible but definitely annoying. I also needed to pull out my tools when the bolt and teflon nut used to the secure one of the gas springs for the awning was loose. Nothing terrible, but still needed to be done. This grill gazebo is exactly what I've been looking for to provide some shelter for my pellet smoker. It is really easy to assemble (it took me about 2 hours to complete mostly by myself), and it definitely provides good a good amount of shelter from both sun and rain. The design is great, including a pop-up extra awning that we are using to cover an additional grill. It comes with shelves, hooks, and a bottle opener, and overall, it's pretty attractive. The legs have a wider base, so it does not feel like those pop-up gazebos that fall over so easily in the breeze, and in fact, it was somewhat breezy yesterday and the gazebo didn't budge, so it will withstand at least a moderate breeze. That said, the material is somewhat cheaply made. The frame is completely metal, aside from a few small plastic connection points, so it feels pretty solid. But, you can easily see every weld joint, and the canopy is separating at some of the seams already. The biggest issue is that the screws all have a plastic head that allows you to hand-tighten the screws. This is very handy and makes assembly a breeze. However, the plastic heads are not very tightly molded or have cracked, so several of the screws were not seated correctly, and the whole gazebo was a bit wobbly. I ended up popping the plastic heads off many of them and tightening the screws with a socket wrench, and it became a lot sturdier. I think overall, this is a good grill gazebo for the money, and I like the design and how much area of coverage it provides. I do wish that it was a bit more solidly built, especially around the screws, but it definitely will work well for our needs. ... show more

    • Easy to assemble questionable workmanship

I really wanted to love this grill canopy but I can't. It was very easy to assemble it took my husband and me only about an hour. My problem with this canopy is the material and workmanship. Everything is put together very thin. Once it is assembled it is not very sturdy in my opinion. I think if the manufacturer had gone with a higher grade of product, thicker metal legs, better quality canopy and so forth that this would be a much nicer canopy than it currently is. I do have to say that it does get the job done. It keeps the sun off of your grill area. It really does feel like a stiff breeze is going to take it out any minute. ... show more

This is a very beautiful gazebo that takes roughly 15 minutes to put up depending upon whether you have a second pair of hands to help you! The build quality on this gazebo is very strong, and it's the perfect size for a very large grill. I have a big Member's Mark Pro series grill with a side burner that this is perfect for. I love that I can barbecue now while it is raining outside. The light that it comes with is adequate but I'm going to put a string of solar lights around it to brighten it up at night and make it look really cool. It comes with stakes for you to secure it down in the grass. It has a pass-through ventilation on the top of that can help with rain and storms. The structure is commercial grade so it should be able to hold up against strong winds and weather. The legs of this gazebo have been upgraded and strengthened by using two sections that go together to make it stronger. The material on the top is waterproof and tear proof, and it can also be replaced years later very inexpensively. The upgraded hydraulic rod design makes putting the side canopy up quite effortless. It's more than tall enough for me to walk under yet not too tall to be a problem during storms. It comes with some very cool accessories holder for you to put your spatula, tongs, etc on it. It really adds to your barbecue area, and the two side table areas are a nice added touch to be able to put paper plates, condiments, etc. This is a great addition to any backyard!
