  • REALLY IMPRESSED ! GOOD & STRONG!
Size: 16inch Color: Black
I put up my ABC CANOPY recently and having done my research I knew that I needed ground Earth Augers, and a ratchet strap set if I wanted to leave it up in any thunderstorms and wind gusts. I was absolutely correct. It hasn't been anything but windy since the day I put it up. These Augers are heavy duty. I would suggest not using once any shorter than the 16 inch. I would also suggest that you use these and not the ones that have the straight long pole with one little auger at the bottom. They will not hold as well as these. The photos do not do them justice ,they are big and thick and strong . But be very picky about where you put them if they're going into the ground. They are not easy to put in but that's exactly why they are so good. You got to have strength and you cannot put them where there are rocks or roots under the ground. So I would definitely buy these and grab the strongest friend or family member you've got and use a metal bar to turn them until they are flush to the ground. I couldn't have done it without help as a 58-year-old lady who's still in good shape and pretty strong. But it was no problem for my handyman. He struggled with the very last one and just had to move it slightly because like I said you have to make sure that there are no roots or rocks below the surface. This will stay in the ground and hold in place for sure! The struggle to get them is absolutely worth it because if you follow my advice, you will not have to worry about whatever you've tied down coming out and flying away. I would suggest that you use the Augo heavy duty ratchet set that you can also buy here on Amazon to attach to these and I guarantee your things will stay in place even on a 20 mile an hour windy day. • Use for a basketball goal
Size: 10inch Color: Black
I wanted another way to anchor a basketball goal besides the traditional water in the base or sand. I was going to use the basegel that came with the goal but decided against it due to the similar issues people have had with the gel leaking out like the water would. I googled and found a guy used these along with ratchet straps and couldn't be happier with this solution. He used two 16 inch anchors and one ratchet strap. I used four 10 inch anchors with two ratchet straps. I'm guessing that that pull strength or force is 275lbs per anchor so having four of these is plenty to hold down the basketball goal in strong wind. I have the goal facing east and a lot of wind can come out of the west so I wasn't real keen on thinking that the base filled with water or sand would hold it up. I bought 4 ratchet straps that have a 500lb load cap and 1500lbs break strength which is what the anchors also claim. I wanted four anchors and two straps to not only give it more tie down strength but I couldn't see just having one tie down on the back side as a chance to twist the goal and break the front of the base. I'm super impressed with how easy these were to get into the ground. On one side of the goal they were nice and smooth no rocks to catch on the other side each had some work to get into the ground. Not a major trouble but each got caught on a rock and with a large open end box wrench for leverage they still went down flush with the ground no problem. I'm not sure what else I could use these for but I would buy four more just to keep for the day I felt like I would need them! They are worth the money and worth the shot to be used in multiple applications. Anywhere that you think you need a tie down in soft ground these will work and I'm pretty confident they will work very well and be a solid anchor for what ever you need to tie down. As my dad would say they're handier than pockets on a shirt, or the best thing since sliced bread! I highly recommend these! ... show more

  • Anchors great, straps eh
Size: 10inch Color: Orange
Hooks are designed great, went in my rocky soil with ease, my purpose was a tie down for a trampoline, so far had quite a few windy days and trampoline is still there. As far as the tie down straps it came with they aren’t so great, stitching popped loose on 2, not a big deal I just tied it back on, my main purpose was the anchors which I have zero complaints on. ... show more

  • Great for tie downs!
Size: 10inch Color: Orange
These tie downs were perfect for what I wanted to use them for. Used a set of 4 of these to anchor my 10 X 10 ft canopy down so wind would not blow it down. Using one per leg with a ratcheting straps, my canopy was able to withstand 40mph gusts. Many of the vendors at the farmers market where I go, are leaving them in the ground on a semi-permanent basis. The attachment point on the top swivels and lays flat when not in use, and when screwed into the ground the flat plate on the top is at ground level and the metal is strong enough so a car running over it doesn’t damage it. Depending on the ground, you might have to start a pilot hole first, about 10 inches in length, once that is done the anchor corkscrews into the ground fairly easy using a small tire iron or crowbar. A good paint job so rust shouldn’t be a big issue when left in the ground for a period of time. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Holds down my basketball hoop
Size: 10inch Color: Black
After an unfortunate incident on a windy day resulted in my basketball hoop landing on the hood of one of my cars, I got these to hold it down. They were fairly easy to install, though I had to relocate one because it hit a big rock about halfway in. After 18 months they have held.

  • Worked Perfect For Me - 16"
Size: 16inch Color: Black
I bought the 16" ground anchor and I am happy with the purchase. It measures 16" from the end of the spiral to the base. I used a steel rod to torque it into the ground and it is in there good. I was worried that kind of torque would possible break the top hook part but it was fine. I am using it to help support wood beams cemented into large flower pots which are holding up a shade sale and lights. Before these ground anchors the beams were unstable and fell over even with 150lbs in each pot. I used heavy duty ratchet tie downs from the ground anchors to the wooden beams. The straps that it came with are not that heavy duty and are pretty thin as you can see from the picture. That is why I bought other heavy duty straps to secure. I didn't test these out so can't vouch for strength or durability. I am happy with the purchase. ... show more
