I bought these for 3 lights above my bathroom mirror. Most of the time these are just too bright when on full and must be dimmed a lot to reduce the intensity to a level that I like, and therein lies the problem. The bulbs will dim from 0 to 100%, but they will not turn on when dimmed too much, then the dimmer must be turned up to get them to start and then turned back down. To complicate this, on a lower setting, they dim quickly, so getting the light level just right is tricky. That makes the process of using these lights tedious. On lower dimming levels there is a slow flicker, like a slow slight pulsation in the brightness that can be annoying. I'm going to replace these with 3W bulbs since these 4W bulbs are just too bright. I would try 2W bulbs but I can't find any that are 3000K. I'll use these elsewhere. ... show more

Replaces 4 40w incandescent lamps in vanity lights in bathroom. Have always had a problem with the lamps getting so hot that they melt the solder on the bulbs leading to erratic operation. This problem should be gone.At first the color of the light was a bit odd, not the usual "warm white".
