They advertise this unit as effective for up to 1,000 sq. ft., but a more realistic expectation is a room around 150 sq. ft. When the package arrived, I did a double take at the size; it is considerably smaller than expected at 8.3"D x 5.7"W x 14"H. While this was a surprise, it actually worked in my favor since I planned to use it in my basement office, which gets very humid, especially in the summer. After tossing it into my office to test, I found: 1. It quickly pulled humidity levels down, roughly 15% lower than the rest of the basement. 2. It isn't loud, but it does clock in around 58dB. "Sleep" mode drops this to 54dB. The controls are very basic, featuring just a Power button, an LED button, and Sleep Mode. When the tank fills, the machine beeps and shuts off automatically. The tank is easy to remove and empty, though you will need to manually turn the unit back on once it is reinserted. Overall, this is an excellent little dehumidifier for its intended size. I am knocking off one star due to the inaccurate advertising regarding both the fan noise and the square footage capacity. For a small office, it is exactly what I needed, but you will definitely need a much larger unit for a bigger room. ... show more

The dehumidifier has a very modern design and fits perfectly into my home. The unit is compact and can be placed anywhere in the house. The auto shutoff feature is a great addition, so there’s no need to worry about leaving it on for long periods of time. Overall, it’s a great purchase.
