    • A Good Coop For A Beginner - YOU WILL NEED TO BUY PADLOCKS- DO NOT RELY ON THESE LATCHES
I purchased this coop a little over a week ago. I just assembled it and my hens spent their first night in it on Monday. The business stated they were an America, Small Business however when I got the coop, the boxes all said "MADE IN CHINA" and the wood that is used ended up being much more flimsy than I initially thought. The nest box inserts to hold the top off when collecting eggs is not even. Only One side is able tall enough to rest the hatch door onto, the latches for the coop were insanely cheap. I had to purchase 3 pad locks and will need to replace them altogether eventually as they were extremely flimsy and a predator could easily figure that out and teach their kits how to open it. The ladder door into the run does not line up with the coop so it is not able to close all of the way. One of the pieces was cut incorrectly and was not even. However, I will say this would be a great coop for a beginner but I won't be recommended this given the price versus the quality of what I received. ... show more

PROS: cute and somewhat sturdy. I have it in my barn as an extra birth area for my giant rabbits. The floor of the coop can hold a 25# rabbit with hay and a birth box. Stairs are sturdy for her. She loves to chew on the wood. CONS: attached run is flimsy and wouldn’t tolerate winds IMHO. Predators(coons) wold find this a piece of cake. Wood is not really weatherproof so should be placed under a permanent structure. ADDITIONALLY: my chickens free range(High Mountain Farm is licensed organic BUT this would be perfect for growouts coming out of the brooder. You could easily do 20-30 pullets until they are 3 months old. I would say a maximum of 4 regular hens without roos if you are wanting eggs…10 maximum Old English game bird bantams or 8 regular bantams. ... show more

It's light weight. Easy to put together if you are good with things like this. Some instructions weren't too clear, I managed to get it put together in pieces in my kitchen ( too hot outside). This will be put inside of a pen and I believe the chicks will be happy when they get in their coop.

Dimensions are off it is 84 inches L by 36 wide with nesting box and 42 high. Item is not as described very disappointed to be sold something that doesn't match the listed description

The material is pretty cheap, the wood is light, metal net is installed with small pins that could come off so easy over all the product has very poor quality.

I put this chicken coop together myself - 70 y.o. woman. It turned out great. There were a few broken pieces that had to be glued, but other than that, it's serving it's purpose. My four pullet hens are happy in it, so I'm happy.
