I am incredibly pleased with this unit! I've always had central air and heat and was not sure what to expect from this little unit. Hooking it up was easy. At first I did not use the continuous drain method, the unit shut itself off as it should. Trying to drain was difficult as the plug was nearly ground level, which did not leave enough space to place anything under to collect the water. Using continuous drain worked better for me. Both the cooling and dehumidifying functions are excellent. I also appreciate being able to set the desired temperature when cooling. The unit is quiet (I'm sensitive to noise), does not leak, and can be stored easily because it is compact.

You are not getting a unit with auto-evap, it requires a bucket. They hide the fact there is no auto-evap, if it had been clear on the box or the instructions the unit would still be in the box. Because I specifically bought it for auto-evap. It's an appliance, packed heavy cardboard with staples, styrofoam, straps, etc and it gets destroyed to get the unit out. They know that. They offer a 20% refund, like that makes up for being for lacking the major feature in the description. That $45 doesn't evaporate condensate. For a full refund, I can "put it in any box." It will be destroyed in transit, why is that even an option? A brand new perfectly good air conditioner WITH REFRIGERANT ends up in the landfill because it was crushed "in any box." How irresponsible is that? This is a bait and switch, they know it, amazon knows it. They are counting on the fact that the return process is so problematic no one does it, we just accept the inferior product. I asked to have one with the auto-evap sent to me, on their dime, and I would try to conserve that packaging so i cold send this one back. They won't do that, I don't think the auto-evap exists. I have no idea if it cools or not. I can't use it with a bucket, I refuse to basically throw it in the landfill by using their "any box" refund process. I'll find an honest dealer and get what I need, and sell this on facebook. I needed air conditioning, that's not happening anytime soon.

We bought this for our up-north cottage that doesn’t have central air, and it’s been amazing! The upstairs guest room gets really toasty in summer, but this unit cools it down quickly and keeps it comfortable. It’s quiet, has a sleep mode and timer, and we love being able to adjust it with the remote. The vent hose isn’t exactly pretty, but it’s worth it for the cold air. It was super easy to set up in our vertical sliding window, and the wheels make it easy to move around. Definitely a great purchase for staying cool!

This portable AC unit works great! I keep it in the living room and it cools the whole area quick and definitely works to keep most of the apartment at a comfortable temperature as well. The air that is output is definitely very cold. Set up is super easy, and it can be put in and taken down from the window less than a minute if you did not want to leave it in the window 24/7. It’s not very loud at all! I can watch TV with this running in the background and I don’t notice the noise. The unit is lightweight enough to move from room to room easily since it has wheels on the bottom. I would recommend this AC unit to anyone who is looking to cool a room/small apartment that doesn’t have central AC. This is a lifesaver in the Summer!!

Why did you pick this product vs others?: This cools my upstairs bedroom well. However, it’s pretty poorly made. The hose frequently detaches from the device and I finally had to resort to duct taping it in place. Hoping it makes it through the summer but based on the current design flaws I’m not overly optimistic.
