Full Disclosure: I received product at no cost as part of Amazon Vine. I like this light, but although I knew the dimensions, it still surprised me with how big it is. It has a large array of daylight temperature LEDs on one side (sort of convex face), and a flat panel of solar cells on the back. Given that, it will work well as long as the location you want to mount it is fully exposed to enough sunlight to charge it. It is not like those lights where the light unit is separate from the solar unit, and thus can be placed wherever the light is needed, as long as the solar panel, connected by a wire, is placed in a sun exposed location. In my case this worked fine. I bought it to light my papaya trees, which are on an alley and open to the public. I have a security camera that is motion activated with its own LED floodlights, but these trees are far enough away from the camera and floods that they are still in the dark when motion triggers the camera. This "street light" really lights up the area it is aimed toward, so it is working well. It triggers easily when motion is in its detection field. The light comes with a mounting bracket and pole to extend it horizontally, allowing it to be mounted to a vertical pole, or to a wall, which is how I mounted mine. (see pics). It does not come with the vertical pole. I really wanted the unit to extend out perfectly horizontally, and not far from the wall. The metal pole however is about two feet long, so it would have extended too far from the wall for my use, so I cut it down with a hacksaw. It was easy enough. The mounting bracket welded to the pole however is angled at about 15-20 degrees from the pole itself. So you can either choose to have the light extending up (which is how it is intended) or angled down. In my case I did not want to light the alley, but rather just my tree area, so I chose to aim it down, which probably looks a little funny. Since it is wall mounted, I probably could put a wedge between the bracket and the walll to straighten it up, and I may do that in the future. To me this is an oversight in design, and part of the reason I have taken one star off. The light can be set up with its own remote (just what I need: another remote), to be off completely, to be on full time at night (not during day), or to go to dim when there is no motion to activate it to bright, and then dim back after a time. I would have liked a mode where it actually turned off when there is no motion, and then just went to full bright when motion was detected (for a given period of time.) So that is the other reason I took off the one star. So all in all a good light, and a good value. If you are mounting it though, be sure it is very secure as it is big and heavy. This would be even more true if you used the full length of the horizontal pole, as that would just add to the leverage. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. When they say "street lamp," they are not joking. This lamp is massive, it's BRIGHT for a solar powered unit, the coverage is similar to a real street lamp, and the solar panel is just as massive on the back side of the light itself. Mounting hardware is simple and straightforward and is assembled in a few minutes w simple tools. I have this over the garage door to my storage shed for my mowers and power tools so there's a bit of money invested in that shed and I wanted to make sure if anyone approached the main garage door at night I'd know it. I don't use the timer feature and use the motion sensor feature to avoid ticking off the neighbors at night - it's bright enough to actually do that if they're close. The only drawback about solar powered things is that ya need some solar to charge it. So, if your area under consideration won't have direct sun beaming right on it for at least several hours a day, the light may be problematic as it won't have enough juice to carry it through the night, nor will the lights be as bright. I reduced my score one point for this, but I do understand the challenges with a separate solar panel, especially one this size! Overall, you won't be disappointed if your goal is to provide a sort of more "street lamp" focused lighting over your chosen area. ... show more

I have a few lights but this one lasted all night! I wanted to see how long it would last before mounting it, they must have some beefy batts inside. The mounting is like most of the other lights, but the lights are pretty bright. Remote is nice. Great light overall.
