I bought this tripod because I needed something that could reach a good height without being overly expensive, and it has exceeded my expectations. It’s surprisingly sturdy for its size, and the fact that I can turn one of the legs into a monopod has already been a lifesaver for outdoor shooting. What I love about it: The height: It extends high enough to get shots I couldn't reach with my old, shorter tripod. The ball head: It moves smoothly and makes framing shots (whether for photo or video) really easy. Just received the new tripod today. Could not be happier. I needed a sturdy tripod that is easy to use and at a price point that I could afford. Out of the box it was in a nice carrying bag. There was a protective cover on the ball head. Set-up was straightforward. Once set-up it was very stable. I really like the twist knobs for adjusting the height vs the typical levers on other models. Nothing on this tripod seems “cheap”…this thing is built to last.

It is by far superior to any travel tripods and monopods I own. The design is well thought-out and extremely functional. It had enough weight to feel substantial without being a burden to carry. The tripod is equipped with a very nice ball-head. It is easy to adjust and is very sturdy. The panning motion of the head is extremely smooth. The quick release plate seems to be a standard arca-swiss plate. The center column is easy to adjust and obtain that extra height when you need it. It also disassembles to combine with one of the legs to create monopod. This is great to have, and you don’t need to carry two pieces of equipment. The bottom of the center column is equipped with a hook for mounting extra weight, should you need the extra stability. The legs are locked into place with a metal spring-loaded lever that make folding the legs up and down very easy. The entire tripod is equipped with twist locks that are very smooth and simple to operate.

Wow! Versatile tripod. Lightweight for how sturdy it is. Really like the ball socket for getting any angle you need for a level shot. I went with the previous reviews on this one and they were RIGHT! Great product. The monopole is a very handy feature.

Happy with the purchase - a good value. Use it with my heavy spotting scope and it is a huge improvement over a camera tripod. It takes some practice. The horizontal rotation adjustment and dial lock seems a little cheap quality, but the knob attached to the rotating ball and socket is solid and this is pretty much all you need for adjustment. For occasional household use, this is all you need. I don’t think it would be sturdy enough for heavy outdoor use, but for the price it’s a good value.

I’m absolutely thrilled with this tripod! It is a bit heavier than I thought and that is good since I have dogs around a lot. It came fully assembled with the exception of the plate you need to attach to your camera. Everything was easy to adjust and when tightened feels really secure. I like that I can use my telephoto lens and it doesn’t slouch over or sag. It has extra accessories for use with a cell phone or as a mono tripod and comes with a nice carrying bag. It collapses easily and stores in the bag perfectly. I like the good amount of height adjustments you can make and for those who do macro photography you can reverse the tripod to accommodate that as well. Overall a really good, solid tripod IMO.

Awesome tripod for the money. I bought this for a trip to Iceland and it didn't disappoint! It is compact enough to fit well on the side of my camera bag and would have been easy enough to take as a carry-on, although I ended up checking it in my luggage. The ball head worked great, and it did everything that I needed it to do as a tripod. The head can be adjusted to go under or above the base, and the monopod is easy to detach and use in a very quick manner. While not carbon fiber light, the tripod was plenty of light enough for my needs. I could hang my 20 lb pack underneath for stabilization in heavy winds if needed also. Extra bonus, it worked fantastically as a bra drying rack for my wife's undergarments when camping in beautiful iceland. Just conjecture here, but my wife is a B cup, so there's not as much material drying..... The tripod might struggle and get tippy with D or DD cups in strongs winds. Use your breast judgements.

This is easily the best tripod I've ever owned. The construction is so solid that I don't worry about the lifespan of the product. I love the fact that the ball head rotates in all directions, allowing landscape and portrait orientations with minimal trouble. Some have complained that the mechanism for loosening and telescoping the legs isn't convenient, but I always find the "snap" style ends up pinching my fingers when I'm opening and closing them, so I love this. Positives: - Sturdy workmanship. All screws and - Independent ball-head mechanism for complete flexibility - Legs fold 180 degrees, allowing the tripod to be as short as possible for travel and transport - Quick-release plate works well - Center column reversible for macro photography, if your subject is near the ground Negatives - Weight. If you're looking for carbon fiber, this isn't it. But you'll spend $300 to get that, so I'm ok with it. Might not be for a smaller or weaker person if weight is an issue Unknown - I haven't used it as a monopod, and probably won't. I haven't really explored that, and have a dedicated monopod, should I want one. I can say that I recommend this completely, and look forward to many years using it. *Update 10/28/2021* While visiting Niagra Falls, I laid the tripod (folded up) against a fence while I took some pictures nearby, and it grew legs. Well, it already had legs, but you know what I mean. I was crestfallen. When I got home, I went to Amazon thinking I might upgrade to a more expensive tripod, but when push came to shove, this guy was too good to pass up. I bought it again, and look forward to (if I can take good care of it) using it for many years to come.
