So I never used one of these before so here goes.... Don't sniff it like me when I wondered if it was working. Smells like a powerful clorine blast. It was stuck in my nose hairs for hours. Wow. What you do is remove pets and plants form the room and set it to twenty mins and let it run in a closed room. When it's done let the room stay closed for another hour and let the ozone sink in. Then run in the room while holding your breath and open the window and put a fan blowing out in the window. That's a best practice. Let's it suck out all the stink. Do this for a few hours and then let the room air out. Your results are amazing and the room smells pure. I love this thing but respect it because ozone and living things are not compatible. This is a compact unit that is easy to use and store. I first used it in a bedroom bathroom combo that gets very little use and seemed a little “musty”, set the timer for twenty minutes and let it run. When I opened the room about three hours later it was extremely fresh and clean smelling. Checking it a few weeks later there has been no return of the musty smell. The next use was in a car I was ready to sell, this was the car we generally had our dogs ride in and even after a deep clean there remained a smell of dogs. I ran the unit with the car on and the ac running for ten minutes- smell was pretty much gone. I decided to run it a second time about a week later and this killed any lingering smell. My third use was another car, this is one we don’t use in the winter. The car had a bit of mildew from sitting closed up all winter, I forgot to crack the windows. I cleaned it with an appropriate cleaner let it dry and set the unit in it the next day for 15 minutes with the ac on to work throughout the ducts. Fresh as a daisy now! I have purchased 6 of these. NEVER use with cats dogs or any living thing in the space until the area has sat to air out for 2x the run time. If you use it for 30min, leave for and 1.5 hour then go open windows and doors to air out. That said these work better then ones selling for 4x the price and claim to have way more strength. Use in our barn, boat, home and car. We turn on and leave at the boat, next week it is fresh.have had mice in barn, eliminates the smell claims to sanitize- I can’t say I know it does, but it improves the smell. ... show more

    • It works, but be conservative with it!

I bought this to get the smokey and musty smells out of a house I bought. typical candles and air fresheners were not working. I read about ozone generators and wanted to give it a shot. I started with the living room. The recommended limit was10 minutes but the timer only would start when i hit the 20 minute mark. So I just went for 20 minutes. Well it worked, but the whole place smelled like chlorine after. I thought I had overdone it and was screwed with this new scent. Luckily after a few hours with windows open and fans on, it faded and was left with no bad odors! The rest of the rooms I did I was very conservative. I would only put it on for like 5 minutes at a time (I set it for 20 minutes and then return after 5 min to unplug it). that seemed to work real well. I think the keys to use this correctly is to be conservative with the time (you can always do it again), and making sure to do it a time of the year you can open windows and turn on fans to get fresh air in there. In the end, it helped neutralize odors in my home without leaving any residual odors! ... show more

The unit works amazingly well. Ozone attaches to the dust in the air and it falls down. Of course it makes everything Dusty but once you clean the air stays clean. I thought it was an air cleaner as well that you could use while you're in your room but it says do not be in the room when it's running. That is a little bit of a hindrance.
