The DEWRAF (tool only) 8 inch Cordless Brushless Mini Chainsaw For Dewalt 20V Max Battery is a lightweight, reasonably constructed and priced battery operated saw for branch trimming. Aside from the potential misappropriation of the Dewalt Tool colors and a name closely approximating a well established tool manufacturer/seller, this appears to be a reasonable quality tool. The DEWRAF 8 inch Cordless Brushless Mini Chainsaw is lightweight in both its material construction and physical weight. It appears reasonably well made for its intended purpose and price. This is NOT a tool designed for continued periods of use (continuous duty) but rather for brief ones. It is a trimming chainsaw (4" diameter of less) for branches. I own numerous chainsaws of various size (power and bar lengths) in both has and corded electric. I ordered this DEWRAF unit to have something small and lightweight that I could quickly pull out to perform light branch trimming around the house (rather than use a hand-saw or larger chain saw; for that purpose, the DEWRAF is great. I can't comment on overall durability other than to speculate that it will offer a long service life if 1) the tool is properly cared for, cleaned, oiled, and not abused; and 2) used for its intended purpose (light duty trimming). Overall, I think the DEWRAF 8 inch Cordless Brushless Mini Chainsaw is of reasonable price and construction.

I was hoping for an interim chainsaw for help with those mid-sized branches, too large for our 4" portable chainsaw without having to power up the full-sized chainsaw. Yes, this definitely does the job. We had no trouble cutting a 5" log with this (could have done a larger size), and the battery (Not included) is powerful enough not to get overwhelmed and shut down like the 4" model did. And, I (female user) didn't have any trouble handling it. Because all the batteries fitting this model are knock-offs, ordering them was a bit of a challenge. Fortunately, the ad shows a picture with five item numbers, and even so, when I ordered a battery a completely different id number showed up. Luckily, it fit. Ditto for the charger. Be aware that you have to add oil to this model; be sure to get a very small funnel. You can turn the chainsaw upside down to see how much oil is in the clear dome button; it will use oil, so keep an eye on it. We were very impressed.

I like this little chainsaw for quick jobs where a larger one would be a hassle or when I run out of gas. This handy tool was great for cutting a few branches, but I had to get used to it as it is very light. Luckily, my neighbor had a battery lying around that he was not using as I didn't have one, and the package clearly states it does not come with a DeWalt-compatible battery. Things I like: - It is light, and after I got used to it, it was better. - Easy to maneuver. - You need to press a button to start, reducing accidents. - The battery lasted long enough to finish my job. - Easy maintenance. -The splash guard keeps sawdust from covering me. - Acceptable level of noise - The price Things I don't like: - The chain seems flimsy - It's not good with smaller branches, but it's specified so in the manual. - It feels cheap but does not disappoint! Overall, it's a nice and handy tool for a very convenient price that will get the job done quickly and efficiently.

As someone who really isn’t into power tools that much and, although likes what they accomplish, actually finds them to be quite frightening, I am happy to say that I did make a good choice when I ordered this mini chainsaw. The reason for my happiness (there are really two reasons) is, first, I got it for my husband for Christmas and he really loves it, and the second is the emphasis the DeWraf folks put on safety features. What I like best about the saw is that It takes two steps to turn it on. The safety lock has to be disengaged before the turn-on switch will work. Then there’s its weight being only two pounds and, therefore, easy to manage (even with only one hand, leaving the other one free to hang onto a tree branch or wave for help. The low noise level is next. That’s especially appreciated because the more noise something makes, the scarier it is. It runs on a 20v Dewalt battery so there are no electrical cords to get tangled up in. Additionally, there’s a top guard, a splash guard and a front finger guard, lots of guards to help protect the user from flying sawdust and scrap pieces of wood. A good pair of grip gloves and protective safety glasses are included. And, finally, one can even phone Customer Service for guidance regarding any questions that arise. There probably won’t be many questions, though, because the owners manual has suggestions for any unlikely problems and my husband is pretty good with power tools.

This is a mini chainsaw that works extremely well for pruning small tree branches. If you plan taking small branches before the winter, I would highly suggest this saw. This does not come with a battery so I would suggest buying this only if you have a compatible Dewalt battery. The battery took some time to install the first time but after the 3rd time it fits snug and was easy to install after. This saw comes with everything but the battery and the chain oil, I ended up using vegetable oil and that worked just fine. This set comes with cotton gloves, extra set of chain, and safety glasses. This saw is designed really well, I was able to use it with just one hand and it was really easy to use. The saw does did not get stuck even when cutting a stump that was about 6 inches. It took me exactly 3 seconds to cut the 6 inch tree. The cut was clean, the chain did not kink and it left a clean finish. This machine is also very quiet because it is brushless and battery powered. Overall, this is a fantastic purchase especially for the price!
