Awesome gun safe. Perfect size and love how the inserts fit around the barrel and holds gun tight and secure. Super easy to set up. Quality product. Excellent value. This is a gun safe that will work great for keeping prying eyes and little fingers from getting to your things. It isn't a fireproof, vault like safe that takes two people to move. This was impressively well packaged. The outer cardboard was 1 piece, taped and stapled. After opening up the ends, there was a compressible foam sheet. Careful slicing one edge opens it up to a 3/4 inch cardboard wrap with STEEL corner protectors and additional foam blocks. to keep the front door protected. Under that was a plastic bag covering everything to prevent the paint from scratching up. Keep in mind that it is meant to survive most handling bumps and bruises as it is going through the delivery process. It will not help with crushing, but that problem would be taken up with your delivery company. The black textured paint was well applied and evenly coated. There was an instruction book included, but I suggest watching the videos that are available for this safe for setting it up and knowing how to work it. Keys (2 for each lock) are included for the main door and the drawer. They are not the same key, so one part of the safe can be locked separately from the other. The door has a 3 pin locking side that looks plenty heavy for keeping the door shut. The door hinge side would be the weak point if someone were to try and pry this open. The door lock rotating handle feels heavy enough to give you some confidence and the keypad seems like it would be reliable. I like that it has a external auxiliary battery pack that will let you get in if the inside batteries go dead. The handgun pockets in the door look like a good idea but are suited for smaller pistols. A 1911 sized gun doesn't work so well. The pocket is small and a larger pistol tips a little. This makes the handle get in the way of the door when shutting it. Even worse, if the pistol tips after the door is shut, the handle hits the safe frame from the inside and it prevents you from being able to open the door. I will add a little foam weather stripping to the door to keep it from being loose and "tinny" when closing it. ... show more
