I like this gun safe for what it can do and what was included with it. Though there was no apparent damage to the many layers and types of cardboard surrounding the safe's shipping carton, the metal at the top of the door is bent, and the powder coating is cracked. The door still functions, though it doesn't close evenly. Also, there is a dent in the upper part of the cabinet where the inner lockbox walls are attached to the wall of the gun safe. As pristine as the outside of the shipping box was when the gun safe arrived, I wonder if the damage happened at the factory. 12/06/25 Update; The seller contacted me about the mailing label to return the gun case. Realizing that returning the gun case would be a real pain in the butt to repackage for shipment, I asked the seller if they would consider a partial refund. The seller agreed to a partial refund, suggested an amount, which I accepted. It took me about a half hour to straighten the bend in the door with a rubber mallet and a wood dowel. I was able to remove some of the dent out of the side panel. Now the door opens smoothly and the bend is almost completely gone.

Safe is sturdy however I think the description of 8-12 storage is over hyped. Storage is reduced for rifles due to removing a storage shelf. I think it is realistic for 4 rifles and three handguns. There is a locking storage inside cabinet(small). Not sure why you would need to lock this storage inside the locked cabinet. Setup was a little tricky due to the language used in manual. Once I was able to setup the fingerprint recognition, cabinet locks and opens easily. Have not used any of the recovery methods if battery dies. Will have to test to ensure it works and find a secure place to store so I have it on hand when needed

I have several safes. This is my fourth and it has some very nice features, some of which look fancy but are fragile. The provisions to guard against a lockout are very nice and may save you a lot of trouble if the battery power goes out before you change them. Installation may be a problem since the drill holes are only designated from the safe's exterior and not the inside where the felt is. Attempts to drill on the back will catch the glued fabric from the inside and tear it off the sides. Unfortunately, the manufacturers didn't mark where the holes are from the inside which would have helped solve the problem of a drill catching the fabric from the back and pulling the glued fabric from the interior wall. Know that this isn't a problem if you drill into the fabric first but to do that you need to find and probe for the holes yourself. PROS - Very good instructions until you reach the point where you need to drill and secure the safe to the wall and or floor. And secure you must or the safe will move and wobble about as you try to use and open it. - The safe provides just the right size and functionality for basic security needs like wallet, chargers, watches, cash, and a home size portion of precious metals. - The chrome, felt lining, and built in light adds just a touch of luxury but the value is minimal in the applications and actual use. - The safe combo and electronics are well done with built in security keys and backup power should the batteries wear out before you change them. This can be a real expense and time saver; I know since I've been locked out before on other safes and had to call the manufacturer to jerry rig a power source. - The hidden compartment below the rug is a great place to store cash. - The metal is relatively thin but should probably keep your kids, guests, tradesmen, and visitors out. - You can set two combinations for the safe, one four and the other eight digits long. - The key rack is perfect for hanging your house, auto, or business keys, but not the safe backup keys. - The document rack on the door is good for holding three stacks of credit and ID cards. - The shelves can be adjusted as needed. CONS - It is unlikely that the metal thickness and safe weight would stand up to professional burglars armed with a crowbar and metal electric saw. I could easily pick up the safe and move it from my closet to my car. - The safe is not fire resistant. If that is important, buy a fireproof document bag and put it into the safe. - The felt backing may tear away if you attempt to use a drill from the rear. Much better to figure out where the holes are from the inside and then drill. The holes are only marked on the outside. For the pins and screws provided you will want a 5/16 drill. The instructions don't tell you that. - I'm showing a photo of this safe installed on top of a fireproof safe. Note the doors and how wide they open. The door for this Marcree safe will only swing 90 degrees making the interior dark. Although the safe comes with a little spotlight, it isn't very effective so on some of my pictures you can see a portable cordless desk lamp. I'm probably going to keep a lamp near this safe. Another option to rectify that problem is to get a cordless strip light and attach it to the ceiling above the door. It is metal and will hold a magnetic light. - The fancy chrome shelf strips are loosely attached to the shelves and easily fall off when touched or taking something out of the safe. Solution is that you might want to glue them to the shelves. - You will need to buy 4 AA batteries for the safe's electronics system.
