None of them have performed as well as this 72CC Post Hole Digger Gas Powered, 2 Stroke Auger. From the moment I unpacked it, I could see the solid construction and attention to detail. Once I fired it up, I was even more impressed. The power behind this machine is unbelievable—it cuts through hard soil, clay, and even small roots without hesitation. The 72CC engine delivers consistent power, and it doesn’t bog down under pressure. Starting it up is quick and easy, and it runs smoothly without the excessive vibration that cheaper models tend to have. My crew and I have used it on several planting projects, and it has easily outperformed some augers that cost twice or three times as much. The fuel efficiency is also worth noting—less downtime refilling means we finish jobs faster and more efficiently. Large size fuel tank is great. This auger is the real deal for professionals who depend on reliable equipment to get the job done. It’s built tough, packs serious torque, and makes digging holes almost effortless. Powerful beast of a machine! This auger ran through 24 post holes in hard packed Texas clay in just a few hours. The 72cc has the power to run through small roots, hard packed clay and the 6' and 8" drives are perfect for my needs. Having the additional extensions was nice when I needed the extra depth. The machine fired up on the 2nd pull after priming it, just as others have stated. Knowing the trigger is plastic, obviously I was cautious and took care to not put any unnecessary pressure when using, but for the price, you seriously cannot go wrong. I was really hesitant to get this and considered renting, but now I own a great piece of equipment, I'm not constricted to a window of time to complete the post holes and I've got an easy way to dig out holes for planting shrubs after my fence is done. For anyone considering taking a chance...do it! Im 100% happy I did.

This auger is great and has saved me sooo much money vs renting an auger! We were redoing our backyard so I have used the auger to plant 40+ shrubs, trees, plants, as well as for installing a fence line and installing 4x4 posts for lights. I live in NC and the clay is rock hard during the summer. The engine in this auger powers through it! The only issue I ran into is that a rock in the hard clay bent the edge on the largest bit so I had to use a propane torch and sledge hammer to straighten it. The bit worked fine again after that. All in all I couldn’t be happier with this auger! If the ground is really dry and hard, it helps to wet the ground before drilling to make it easier. If there has been normal recent rain, this auger goes through our ground like a knife through butter!

Did have one problem and was going to send it back because it would not start after leaving it out in the rain under a tarp but after putting it my garage for a couple of days it fired right up again. Not one to use in a very glacier not area. Had to rent a heavy duty one to finish my project

So far it works great. Comes with extra parts, tools and it's heavy duty. There is some plastic but so far seems to be great for the price. It started right up after getting it setup. I'm not sure of longevity but for normal use seems to be good quality.
