I had trouble programming the code: I'd follow the instructions but the code would not open it. Turned out the batteries I was using were not enough. I'd recommend making sure the lights light up bright! the inside led should really shine, and when you press the reset button, the yellow light should be bright like the pictures not muffled like on a TV remote. Can't say I should be giving amazon basic AAs 5 stars, ha! Other than that - the shelf isn't adjustable height wise which is a bummer because it's right in the middle and if you want to keep something like a folio or binder, it takes some work and removing it all together is easier. It does fit sideways at an angle if you want an angled false back to keep the fireproof pouch out of the way of other things. All in all I'm happy with my purchase though if I had to do it over again, I'd get the next size up or two from the 1.6CU FT, with an offset or adjustable shelf, and an opening 14"+ wide (not just the face) for folios or legal items in binders. The media could not be loaded. I was skeptical about this purchase at first. Took the risk and finally got it. Package Delivered safely. No scratches or dents considering how heavy it was. I was able to move it upstairs with precautions. I got the 7.6 cu ft. Seems sturdy and itโs a good-looking as well. Inside of the safe is roomy enough for my important valuables and documents. Overall Itโs good to have a safe place to keep my belongings. I like the feature having hidden lockbox. I added a magnetic light inside just to make lighten up the inside and help to see stuffs more brightly. Red button was not mentioned on the manual but you may find it behind each of the door edge. Set up wasnโt difficult. Setting up or change passcode is easy. Easy steps to follow if you want to change passcodes. Also, in case you found yourself with a dead battery or emergency manual key was left inside the safe; there is white plastic box where you may put batteries and use it as a backup to insert passcode and access to your safe. The safe is supposed to be Fire and Water proof/resistant, but I hope it never comes to that. However, thatโs the point of investing on this thing right? There are holes on the back of the safe where you can secure the safe. I was told thereโs one on the bottom as well; secure it to the floor. Mine doesnโt have bottom holes for some reason. But anyways, I liked it so far. customers service was reachable and answered some of my questions. It may not be like your bank vault secure, although itโs perfect for home office or just for personal belongings with budget friendly, good looking and well built. Canโt go wrong with this one. Highly recommended.

While the product seems adequate, the info on description is misleading. The product description gives an inside dimension which would have been adequate. However, when I tried to insert our binder bound trust, the bottom hinge protrudes about 1-1.5 inches, the locking mechanism on the back of the door which is about 1.5inches thick, and the inside rim which cuts about 1/2-3/4 inch off each side was in the way and it took great finagling to get it in and out. Once it was in, it fit the bottom inside dimensions perfectly but the bottom hinge was still in the way of closing so the binder had to be inserted backwards to not interfere with the bottom corner hinge. So, the opening is only about 9 inches to get larger things in and lay down. The too low shelf totally prevents an upright option. Extra dimensions for actual use is a huge note description to leave out. Had the opening been the same as the inside dimensions it would not be a problem. I thought the inner side walls were the same as the opening. NOT. The binder had to be tipped and reversed at an odd angle which then the top shelf interfered with it at the same time as the door, hinge, and lock. I thought the shelf was adjustable but it is only removable. That falls on me for not reading more closely. (I lose a star for that.) An adjustable shelf would be more practical but again the ledge the shelf sits on reduces the inside dimensions by about a third of an inch each side. I really wanted the shelf but need to stand the 3 inch taller binder up since laying it down is a real hassle. However, I wanted to use the shelf as well. I don't see how to use this safe as efficiently or with all that I had indented. I was not familiar with safe construction and did not know to allow for door/keypad thickness, and hinge to interfere with getting things in and out. I am contemplating whether I can just take the shelf out and get less use with this safe or do I struggle with returning. Both my husband and I have mobility issues and returning is a problem. If there was a door pick up option, even for a $10 fee, I would gladly buy a much larger one in a heartbeat. If the description had included usable opening dimensions, I would have GLADLY ordered a larger more expensive safe and the company would have made more money. The company would save money on returns if this information were provided and I expect more people would upsize and company would make more money buy selling the larger product. The fireproof document holder does not have an accordion effect so it will only hold a few papers. Imagine the next size larger of a standard size manila mailing envelope. This would be such a tiny cost to incorporate about a 3 inch expansion on the same width and length of this product that I would gladly pay $5 more just to have that feature. I took one star off as the capacity of document holder is too thin to hold much and another for the lack of needed info for the unknowledgeable, first time buyers of a safe. So 3 stars for what I bought and expected but easily a 5 star product if I had had more information to accurately buy what we needed and the holder was expandable. I just didn't want to loose more closet space than necessary but do need a safe that items are easily accessible and will fit. Dimensions should be listed as following: #1 outside dimensions #2 inside dimensions with shelf removed #3 inside dimensions for bottom shelf #4 inside dimensions for top shelf #5 opening dimensions for bottom shelf, #6 opening dimensions for top shelf #7 opening dimensions without shelf Yes, I would recommend this product if you had all 6 dimensions to make an informed purchase to not buy too small as I did.
