When I pull my back out, I'm usually couch bound for at least the majority of a day. An ice pack or a heating pad is really that helps sooth the initial pain. After a bit, though, when you need to start moving around and getting stuff done, this back brace is perfect for giving you a bit more support while still helping to heat and massage the pain away. The steel bars make it tough to get comfortable in the initial stages of back pain, but they give a lot of support when doing simple household chores that are usually pretty difficult early on.     • Nice taller option for a back brace. Helps me sleep when my back gets too bad.
I was having nagging lower back pain, so I decided to try this 6xigouma back brace. The material is surprisingly soft and breathable. It didn't dig into my sides like some braces I've tried, and the Velcro closures made it super easy to adjust for the nice fit. It is a bit taller than some other braces I have used, and this is a good thing. The extra height keeps it from rolling and walking down. As for the support, it helped me keep my posture straighter throughout the day. Although I manly use it at night when sleeping when my back bothers me the most. It stays put, keeping firm pressure that felt stabilizing without being too restrictive. My back pain wasn't gone overnight or anything, but it definitely helps. ... show more

I pinch the nerve in my back 2 or 3 times a year. When this happens, I have about 30 minutes to get it supported or I am out of commission for 4 or 5 days. I have learned that getting support is a big part of the process and I always have a back brace available for those times. My old brace was getting old and it did not have solid supports in the back. I wanted to try something with more support and the metal stays in back of these looked to do the trick. When you put this on properly, it gives you very good compression and back support. There are 2 sets of straps, the large straps are used to secure the belt and then the second smaller straps are used to increase the tension and get the tightness you want. These smaller straps are attached across the back and really increase the tension to the level you want. Now for the sizing. The large belt is 48.5" as the sizing chart mentions, but there is about 12 inches of stretch. When I first got the large, I thought it was too small and I need to go up a size. Then I realized I needed to release the smaller straps and allow the belt to stretch a little, then it fit very well. I like a very tight fitting brace so getting the smaller size really worked well. I have not had an attack yet but it feels like it would give me the support I am looking for. ... show more
