Does not work for splitting wood at all. I read some of the bad reviews and thought it can't be that bad. Well it is. Waste of money. Avoid!!!!

    • You need a bigger drill
All right. These work, but you need the right equipment to wield the tool. The seller does have notes in the listing: the 38mm wood splitter requires a 750 watt or higher power drill and the 50mm wood splitter requires a 1000 watt or higher power drill. The wattage of a 20V cordless drill can vary depending on the model, but they are typically between 300 and 404 watts. So if you try these with an average cordless drill, you will get: disappointed, woodpecker holes, a stuck bit, splinters, and possibly a broken wrist. You are going to need a bigger drill. And if you use a bigger drill, you are going to need a vice or some kind of counterlever to keep the wood from spinning if the bit starts to stick. I love the packaging the bits came in - small plastic cartridge boxes to hold the bits and shanks, and keep them organized. These are heavy duty, and they absolutely work, but don't be misled by the listing images that make it appear that it is compatible with an average 20v cordless drill. ... show more
