    • Revived a perfectly good machine that wouldn't run
Helped my son pick out a Murray 24" snow blower with a Tecumseh engine for $100 that did not run. Normally these machines sell new for $800 plus, depending on the make & model. I convinced him that I could get it running for him and had a feeling that the carburetor was the issue. This was easier and, in the long run, cheaper than buying a repair kit and rebuilding the carburetor. This was a perfect match for what was on the snowblower. Swapped them out and once I had it installed and the lines connected it, started it up using the electric start and it fired right up. No hesitation. Let it warm up and shut it off. Gave the pull starter a shot and it started one pull. Success in my book. Swapped the choke mount from the old to the new and replaced the cover and my son couldn't be happier he finally doesn't have to shovel snow. For the price, this carb kit surprised me. Comes with a new plug, primer bulb, inline filter, shut off valve, fuel line, primer line and clamps. These weren't needed immediately so I had him keep them for future tune ups. However, we will put on the filter and shut off valve on the unit next spring before we put it away for the season. ... show more

I have a Murray Snowblower with a 5hp Tecumseh Snow king engine that was given to me. It hadn't run in years and was left sitting with gas in it. I got it running after cleaning the carb but not very good. This fall I decided I would look for a new carb for it and I ordered This kit. The shipping was super-fast, and the carb was and exact fit and fired up and ran great from the start. The only issues I had with this kit was that the primer bulb didn't fit very tightly on the cowl and the gas line hose and primer bulb hose were a bit short. I used the old primer bulb and hose and a piece of the old gas hose to make the gas line work. Not a deal breaker, I would buy from this seller again the price was great and my snowblower is running. ... show more

Carb is a will-fit replacement for a Tecumseh 5HP. Carb fit fine, but that's because I did got out my caliper to measure the boss on the motor. But the squeeze bulb was very difficult to install, detents were too large and bulb fits sloppy after install. Carb didn't work until I figured out why it was leaking, turns out the screw that holds on the bowl was loose, so I had to tighten it. The hose clamps in the kit are made of too thick of a metal, so they are quite difficult to tighten over the hose. I've purchased kits like this one before and not had any issues...this one is not the greatest. ... show more

I simply have no idea how this company is making any money on these. I was just going to replace the float/needle on my carb but it's MUCH cheaper to replace the whole thing. Works perfectly and comes with a fuel shutoff which I didn't have before. Installation was very straightforward. The primer doesn't fit in the stock mounting holes very well is my only complaint but for $16 who really cares.... ... show more
