    • Simple, easy, solid, elegant
Two things surprised me about this lamp: How easy it was to assemble and how substantially solid it is. Assembly is just screwing the pole sections together and then screwing on the base (which you should do -- not screw the end of the pole onto the base). Once together, it sits staunchly on the floor and looks great doing so. In this day and age of plastics and other lightweight materials, there is something reassuring about this lamp's metal heft. And for the price listed as I write this, a darn good value, as well. ... show more

Great lamp, but it has a very faint flicker to the one I got. The base is almost hyper kitten proof, hasn't been knocked over yet. It is a very nice lamp, just wish it didn't flicker. I don't leave it on unattended.

I have this placed behind a reading chair to use as a reading light, and it is perfect! The adjustable position is great to place it in a number of places. The design is simple, which makes it versatile to placed just about anywhere. It has great brightness and was easy to put together.     • VERY VERY EASY TO ASSEMBLE

You can see in my photo the lamp does look as nice in person as it does in the listing. In this shot I have substituted a brighter whiter LED bulb for the one that actually came with the lamp, which is very nice for ambiance being a long filament LED that looks like a old Edison bulb of a very warm color. The refracted brighter light from the shade works well to fill the space with usable light. If you use the included bulb it gives off a more amber glow and is great for a mood change. It has a regular lightbulb socket, so you can stick any bulb up to 60 actual watts in there. The assembly was a breeze. NO TOOLS REQUIRED. The shafts just screw into each other, the "pole" screws right into the base. Wire is already in there so no threading or anything like that. The shade goes on with a nut so very secure, you just have to remember to flip it into the cone shape before attaching to socket frame. I had it lit in about 8 minutes. The base is HEAVY, so it's not going to get knocked over, and picking up the box for the first time will confuse you due to the weight. LOL.... ... show more

This lamp was super easy to assemble, and I love the final look of it. I had previously purchased similar lamps from Amazon, but what really differentiated this JuGuo lamp from the others was the adjustable lamp head and the included Edison bulb. I heard you can switch out the Edison bulb to a more energy efficient LED bulb but I have not tried that yet. I enjoy the warm glow the Edison bulb casts and it brings a distinct coziness to the room. the design of this lamp is good. it looks beautiful overall. the light is bright but very soft. i don't like thw switch, it is on the floor. you have to use your foot to turn it off if you don't want to Bent. And after long time the switch become very dirty
